Powers & Abilities Blocking observation haki, the next big thing in one piece power system.

I've been wanting to make this thread for a long time, but due to lack of time and just the problems I have in IRL postponed this. Unfortunately this is not gonna be one those meticulous long threads with a lot of sources or materials–I simply have no time for this. But I'll do my best to put as much info with my thoughts as possible, so let's get into it.

Recently it was revealed that Shanks has the ability to block observation haki, and this immediately made sense to me since I've long been a big proponent of different CoO haki abilities in different people. When future sight was revealed in Katakuri, I pointed out that this can't be the only advanced form of CoO, because we've seen multiple characters display very unique–although for a brief moment–CoO ability that is very unique to them specifically. The first strange case of CoO was when Koby awakened CoO haki, he was hearing voices, almost like inner thoughts of people. Second strange case, although this one was controversial at the time I pointed it out, was Rayleigh's ability to scan a erea (or a field) and immediately have a map of the place in his head and the approximate power level of people or creatures in the vicinity. It was immediately brushed off as a regular CoO ability that all observation haki users have, but I disagree. Rayleigh's version was much more potent, no CoO haki user has managed to even come close to it. A good example of this would be Rayleigh's and Zoro's gag, and I understand that a gag might not be the best example, but just bear with me, ok. Rayleigh's running gag is that he always loses in gambling, even though he's an observation haki user, while Zoro's running gag is that he can't find the right direction and always ends up being lost despite having observation haki. On the other hand, Fujitora, who is a blind man, can both navigate without an issue and win in gambling, thanks to his CoO haki. Now some people will either dismiss this by saying that Fujitora's CoO is that much better because he's a blind man, or because I used gags as an example, but I don't think this should be dismissed. Another unique case of CoO haki is Luffy's ability to understand whether someone is a good person or not, this was once again demonstrated in Egghead with Loki, when even though everyone thought that Loki is a bad guy, but Luffy could immediately tell it was not the case. So where an I going with this? Well, I believe that two more characters, other than Shanks obviously, have this CoO ability to block your opponents observation haki. One is Shiryou, and other is Sanji. Let me give a very short explanation. In case of Shiryou it's pretty obvious, his invisibility DF ability pretty much explains this, and I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who contacted these dots by now. But Sanji's dodging of Katakuri's candy bullet is yet another strange case of CoO display. How could Sanji do that, and why was Katakuri surprised? Sanji clearly doesn't have future sight, at least not now, he might awaken it later, but he clearly doesn't have it now, and back then his CoO haki should have been even worse than now. So how did he do that? I believe that Sanji has CoO has that exact ability, it's obviously in its early stages, and Sanji has yet show something that would solidify my suspicions, but I believe his CoO haki's ability is to block another CoO haki. This is why he could dodge Katakuri's bullet and why Katakuri was surprised that he couldn't predict Sanji's movements.

Good thread.

Shiryu and Sanji will most likely unlock abilities to block Observation Haki for sure.

Another good candidate would be Lafitte. He managed to infiltrated Mariejois without anybody noticing, when folks like Mihawk and Sengoku are present there and yet they didn't even noticed.

Now I don't know if that's his Haki ability, Devil Fruit ability or maybe some kind of race ability or what, but it's intriguing to point out.

I am afraid dodging the bean from Katakuri is the most basic display of CoO.
No different than priest Satori dodging Luffy's punch.
Also, CoO has always been the most useless form and the most dependent on Odas whim...
...and there is also the fact, even if you turn off someone else's CoO, they are still left with their battle instincts and reflexes.
Not saying there wont be interesting applications but I don't have too much expectations from it.
Just look how crazily CoA and aCoC are being devalued in real time...

I have to despite you, since I also have an idea about Zoro's unique CoO ability, but I'll have to wait and for more hints from Oda to actually make a thread about. So don't dismiss CoO too much...
CoO is so irrelevent in grand scheme of things that, you can make a case for pre time skip people using CoO unconsciously lol.

CoO just reflex/instinct at the end of the day.
I agree, as matter of fact I consider CoC useless too since it's pretty much a stronger version of CoA. But Oda divided them into three versions, so there's no point dismissing them as a potential power up.
