For depict example if Kaido is drunk and Law did a sneak attack on Kaido (who would not be using any Haki) would he be sliced in 2

I don't think Law can slice Kaido up even if he is off-guard to be honest. His haki is too much for Law to handle.

The issue with that is that would just put this question in a catch 22

Answered yes based on the hypothetical scenario of no haki being applied but a character like Kaido might just radiate haki even if black out drunk which would mean no, I would say Law could slice BM in the small window after the Carmel picture trauma and before her CoC burst.

If their Haki is much greater than Law then He can't Cut it
So even if Characters like Kaido, BM, WB, Shanks ... etc were asleep, Law's DF Hax cannot work on them

Basically it makes the question a catch 22. No matter what they will always be using some type of Haki

Sugar was about to touch/screw Luffy and Law at the same time if it wasn't for Usopp and for sure both Luffy and Law have way better haki than Sugar. So I guess that for Law it is the same. It is just that for the story convenience he can not sneak attack villains like Doffy.

Some enemies like big mom kinda have this coat of haki protecting their skin at all times, they cant just deactivate it....If they do they are no diferent than normal people...and thats like asking if a normal person would be hurt after you stab them with a knife...

Its likely Law can only cut stuff inside his room that he would be able to cut with his sword, the room only serving to extend the reach of his atack and not ignoring defenses all togheter...If that was the case he would have no problem slicing off Doffy's threads wich he didnt do. Same with the Yonkos, he is aiming to deliver atacks such as gamma knife who try to bypass skin all togheter not cut through the skin, as seen how he failed to injure Kaido with his sword in this chapter.

why do some people act as if Doffy, Kaido, and BM were all using Full Body Haki all this time?

In the other thread, my question is, why didnt Law sneak attack and cut Kaido in 2 while he was drunk.

My follow up question if the answer is plot why wasnt the original plan to sneak attack and Cut Kaido in 2

It's unclear to which extent of character his hax could work with efficiently.

Probably not characters with "yonko level haki" if that makes even sense.

WCI already shows there's at least some circumstances in which BM drops all defenses, hard to say if others work like that, we can extend BM's condition and meme about panicked Oden and Shanks becoming prone to massive damage.
