General & Others Crocodile defeating Luffy twice is NOT the same as Kaido defeating Luffy three times.

I am seeing a lot of arguments where people use Croc vs Luffy fight to justify Kaido beating Luffy three times even though both are completely different.

First time Luffy gets defeated by Croc, he was sent into a sand trap but Robin who wasn't a crew member at the time, thus Oda needing to set up the justification of her eventually joining the crew, had her save Luffy. Whereas the first time Luffy got defeated by Kaido, we had the enemy helping Luffy train.

The second time Luffy gets defeated by Croc, it was actually smart writing by Oda because the move Croc used to defeat Luffy was nullified because of the water that Luffy shot in the air. But the second time Luffy got defeated by Kaido was when Luffy ran out of Haki and Oda off screened it LMFAO because Oda had absolutely no idea how to resolve that plot point.

Third time Luffy got defeated was also off screened and Law's crew was just coincidently waiting for someone to fall from the sky.

Hence why both situations are completely different and people need to stop using that argument. Croc situation was handled correctly whereas the Kaido situation was handled terribly and lazily.

Not three 4 times he ate him in dragon form then Zoro saved him lol but some people act as if Crocodile fought 9 scabbards and had a daughter that wants to beat him or got a scar from Zoro

In general some users tend to be too optimistic regarding past patterns even though they don't look too similar at all and Oda has proven to be a non-linear thinker in several occasions either.

Might have been smart writing, but in the story it was still dumb luck. Something that a lot of people criticize every time it happens post-timeskip.
And since when is running out of Haki a moment of defeat? Could be an argument to justify your own bias, but not a good one.

We knew that the submarine was still down there and it makes sense that they followed Onigashima. Luffy actually led them to him so that they could save him, so where's the coincident?

Nah. I agree that offscreening that last defeat wasn't the best way to handle it, but as with many things people "criticize" so vehemently, they just blow it out of proportion.

That was Zoro's fault as he admitted for dropping Luffy.
Luffy trusted him to repay the favor for Luffy taking on 2 yonkos while the SN all recovered from BM's lightning.
That scenario was because of BM interfering in the fight, not a true loss.

You are right but you used a little wrong arguments.

Oda only offscreened the 1v1 of Luffy and Kaido. All the other defeats we saw. Luffy getting one-shot was one. Luffy running out of G4 and getting eat by Kaido, none of those are defeats. Luffy getting hit by Kaido and losing conscious is another defeat. And Luffy 1v1 Kaido is his third defeat.
