DC - Snyderverse General Thread Discussion

#2
Had potential but was limited by tonal inconsistency and Snyders edgy fantasy and only taking inspiration from New 52 and Injustice.

I was okay with Man of Steel. Thought the murder of Zod was unnecessary and a weird tonal shift, but nothing was as bad as Pa Kent telling Clark not to save people. That was a complete disregard to Pa Kent’s ideals and the ideals he passed down to Clark.

WW was maybe their best movie as Gal Gadots inability to act was masked well by Diana’s awkwardness and social ineptitude. But forcing her into this Nick Fury type role was real bad. And WW84 was the second worst movie of the Snyder verse. Their take on Barbara Ann was abysmal and was just copying Electro from Spider-Man 2 and the complete disrespect for Max Lord was appalling.

And flash movie was maybe the worst I’ve ever seen

before we walk deep in the movies, i would like to talk about the developing of Snyder's DCEU.

1# Introduction

When we think about superheros, it's always cool to see these characters interacting in the screen. Look at Batman/Superman Animated Series/Justice League Unlitmited, it was magic.

So the concept of seeing these characters alongside in LA on theaters always were a dream of everyone who growed watching these cartoons.

Even before Man of Steel, Warner tried to make an Justice League movie in 2007 directed by George Miller, but the movie got cancelled.

Another try was in 2010, when they tried to start an universe with Green Lantern movie followed by an Flash movie, which didn't worked due to the failure Green Lantern movie was, cancelling Flash movie in the process.

However, the Dark Knight Trilogy was DC/Warner biggest triumpth(box office), and was about to end in 2012. In parallel of this, MCU was growing with Avengers solo movies. It encouraged Warner to start a new DC Extended Cinematic Universe. While MCU had Kevin Feige as the producer/big boss, Warner hired Zack Snyder which already had some experience with comic book movies(300, Watchman).

Of course, when you think about an DC Cinematic Universe project, which character is better to start lol?

Due to the sucess of Dark Knight Trilogy, they though it would be a good idea to give an more grounded and realistic style to DC movies, which makes sense, considering Christopher Nolan worked alongside Snyder in Man of Steel as producer.

Man of Steel was overrall satisfory, and encouraged Warner to continue with an second movie. The second movie was supposed to be an MoS 2, however, trying to catch up Marvel, they changed plans deciding to make an crossover to Superman and Batman and also set up for Justice League, so in 2015 it was announced Batman v Superman....
