but it doesn't matter, kishimoto has decided that sasori is the boss and deidara the child, and deidara admits that sasori is stronger than him (which is logical given their relationship).
sasori himself tells deidara not to keep him waiting just before deidara fought garaa
what you say is an interpretation of the feat, but in the manga, sasori is the dominant and deidara the child tells kakashi that sasori is stronger than him.
even in edo tensei, sasori is still dominant and threatens deidara as if he were a schoolboy

Try to analize it. Sasori lost to fucking Sakura and an old geezer who was 10 minutes away from dying of old age. Meanwhile Deidara won against Gaara and almost killed post Orochimaru Sasuke. Mind you that Sasuke won for a few key factors;
1. Sharing to see the the land and C4's bombs, without them Sasori would step on landmines and he wouldn't even know what made him explode from inside out.
2. CM2 which allowed him to fly, something that Sasori doesn't have because he's grounded.
3. Elemental advantage; aka Lightning release to deactivate Deidara's bombs. Stuff that Sasori doesn't have.
It comes down to if you believe that Sakura+Choyi would leave Sasuke in that state after fighting him. Spoiler alert; Sakura, Naruto and Yamato weren't even able to react to Base Sasuke's movements while Deidara was. Is the fight even close?
And it makes sense for Sasori to treat him somewhat like a child when Deidara is like 20yo and Sasori was 35yo

Deidara hard counter Sasori, he's like the worst opponent he could even face. Deidara has huge AOE attacks who can easily deal with Sasori puppets. But Sasori is still massively underrated, he can basically OS any character with his poisons. Overall Deidara and Sasori would destroy any Kage that aren't Hishirama or Naruto.
