With Dragon being revealed as a former Marine, I feel like it puts this matchup back on the table. He clearly had some sort of rivalry with Akainu, as Sakazuki was obsessed with killing Luffy specifically due to the fact that Luffy was Dragon's son.

Hence I feel like its very likely that Dragon will be the one to take out Akainu in the final war.

Luffy vs Akainu can still happen, but this won't happen in the final war as Luffy will need to defeat Imu then. Either Luffy vs Akainu happens earlier or Oda just cans it like he did Luffy vs Big Mom.

It is probably the opposite.
I think the relationship and power between Dragon and Sakazuki were probably similar to Ace and Sabo's.
Dragon extreme diff when they were younger. But Sakazuki extreme diff now.
Either way, I see Dragon vs. Sakazuki being A LOT closer compared to Sakazuki vs Kuzan.

It would probably take them more than 100 days just to figure out who came out on top.

I have always rooted Dragon vs Akainu.
But clowns wants Luffy to have every Battle.

We don't even have enough arcs to take down all the major villain in their own respective arcs.

Given that we just had Garp vs Aokiji (and friends), now there was Luffy vs Kizaru so we are to expect a Dragon vs Akainu really soon. He goes after Kuma and finds Akainu still protecting Marijoa (or something like this). Then of course I doubt Oda will draw a clear winner (if the whole thing actually happens).
