Zoro's fights will always make logical progression if you put the usual biases aside.
- Cutting the Galleon, Hyuozou, Monet demonstrated Zoro has come out the TS on a different level.
- Defeating Pica, demonstrated Zoro's ability to slice through Mountain Sized obstacles with ease.
- With Killing Kaido, Cipher Pol (Tenriyubito Guards) will know the truth. These are the soldiers of the people of "Heaven".
- Zoro fighting up top is a statement that the New Generation have arrived. And Zoro becomes the Sword God of Wano.
- With defeating Shiryu, the story comes full circle and Zoro cuts nothing.
- With defeating Mihawk, Zoro becomes WSS, unrivaled under the sun. And his name along with Luffy's reaches Heaven (The WG/Celestial Dragons) as the Strawhats tear down what the Heavens stand for.

Luckly Big Mom is there too or else I would have been conflated myself for a moment, but the author has robustly demonstrated how fierceful the implications for the Grandmaster to shine are. Starting from acquiring Enma and the will to carry Oden's craft to the actual late words of killing Kaido or even Kaido's words of death wish.
Zoro would kill Kaido and then he would low/no diff a commander.

Learn you God Damn One Piece, Zoro body bags the subordinates when Luffy defeats the captain only due to plot armor hence why Zoro > Luffy's turd ass.
I am willing to guarantee you, and (you will look like a dumb fuck if you disagree with me when it happens) that post Wano you would see Zoro defeating a YC1 level character mid diff or less.

Of course it would make perfect sense. Zoro's killing a Kaido that got pummeled to hell by a group of characters. This is like the 999 thread that pretends ZKK means Zoro would 1v1 Kaido and win.
Zoro's Blackbeard fight would be Shiryu to prepare his CoO and speed when he takes on Kizaru next. After defeating Kizaru in 1v1 it starts the setup for Zoro vs Shodai World Noble. Mihawk will be defeated in the epilogue, i know Zoro would be too overpowered by then but it could be a one strike only clash like the Baratie one where Yoru shatters immediately.
