With the recent chapter, there's a lot of overblown things happening, from the admiral fanbase and the yonko fanbase. Too many exaggerated reactions based on selective reading that ignore the entire context of the character and in turn the full scope of events taking place. Many of the admiral fanbase started claiming disappointment for Aramaki (while few have stuck by his side and tried to explain his prowess), on the other hand the good portion of the yonko fanbase started bashing the dude and projecting claims. However, the reality of the situation is if there is any person to be wanked in this chapter it'd have to be the man who walked away. Allow me to explain my reasoning here, which I think many of you will end up agreeing with.
Aramaki's Goal in coming to Wano:
The reason Greenbull came to Wano was to capture the man who bested Kaido and had now been named as 1 of the 4 emperors. In doing so once he arrived there he had the full confidence of taking on Luffy, Kid, Law, and such (as implied by him mentioning "you bratS".
But many fandom took this as "overconfidence" or him being arrogant and underestimating Luffy and co, a train of thought that has no backing whatsoever. Rather what's implied about him since his introduction is that he is very well aware of where he stands. As seen when he turned down Fujitora's "Shall we battle then" with "I'd rather not!", despite Sakazuki's orders to find Fujitora and kicking him out (Sakazuki should know very well GB would have to use force to kick out Fuji). This is not to say that he admits inferiority to Fujitora, it's to say he recognizes the prowess of Fujitora and doesn't overestimate himself, despite Fujitora even telling him straight up that he's going to crash the meeting. He knows at the very least that it won't be a walk in the park against Fujitora.
But many for some reason believe that he simply underestimated the people who took down two Emperors, not just 1 emperor, but TWO. So we have a man here, who came to Wano by himself willing to take on a military force that was powerful enough to take down two Emperors. This is the most insane goal we've seen an admiral aim at lol.
Why his goal failed:
Giving Momo and co a chance to back off:
On his way to the capital , he's met by the scabbards, yamato, and momo. He proceeds to tell them that they better not get in his way. Then he flexes his might to them to showcase the sheer gap between him and them along with letting them know that if he proceeded to kill thousands of them in order to get Luffy, it wouldn't be counted as a crime. Few minutes in Yamato comes in, where she pushes him back with an ACoC attack, that makes him give the same reaction Akainu had with Marco & Vista's attacks. Then a minute or so later Momo comes in, to which Aramaki is surprised as to how there's another Dragon. Once Momo attacks him, within seconds he's restrained. Few minutes later Raizo comes at him, and proceeds to have his nutrients sucked up to the point of K.O, but not death. Then few minutes later he restraints all the scabbards along with Yamato (who has scratch marks on her face, indicating she did fight). Then momo proceeds to throw down two boro breaths, which Aramaki ends up shrugging off, and says, "So you want to play hardball then". And it's at this very moment that he gets on board with actually killing them, where as before he was simply trying to showcase to them the difference between them so they'd back off. (This also points to the fact that he's not as "trigger happy" on killing people as it might seem from his words. But that if somebody persists on getting in his way, then he has no problem killing them. So he's actually less extreme than Akainu in this sense.)
Red Hair pirates come in:
So just before he's about to go on a murdering rampage, Shanks flexes his Haki all out. Which stuns GreenBull, to which he reacts surprised, as he wasn't expecting the Red-Hair pirates to be in Wano too:
To which he then proceeds to say, that he'd backoff since he doesn't want to pick a fight with them. But also says "Not Today anyway..."
Why not Today? Because he'd also have to deal with the people who took down Kaido & BM, which was his entire goal in coming there.
Despite Greenbull's words "Red Hair Pirates", "You Guys". All some people see is: "Red Hair", "You guy". The amount of insult the Red Hair crew is getting is damn insane, especially when it's coming from the individuals who want to overplay Shanks role, and want to give him the sole credit. He didn't back off because of the Conqueror's Haki, he backed off because a whole healthy Yonko crew was now in play. He's not saying "Yo Shanks I don't want to take you on", He's saying, "Yo Shanks, Beckman, Roux, etc etc, I don't wanna talk y'all, atleast not today."
This isn't a BM/Kaido type of crew, this is a crew loaded with monsters. Where there's a person in the crew that even rivals Shanks as an entity, something BM & Kaido's crews weren't close to having. To such an extent the Marines go out of their ways to highlight his crew members names (mind you Oda only mentioned the names we knew of at this point), and saying there are no soft targets in the RHP.
Comparison with Marineford w/Shanks:
Marineford was another place where Shanks had come in and stopped a war. Blackbeard despite declaring himself the strongest (which people simply say he was running on adrenaline instead of actually believe it so), proceeds to retreat from a fight against NOT JUST SHANKS, but "YOU GUYS" aka the Red Hair PIRATES. Sengoku doesn't end the war simply due to Shanks being there, but due to the entirety of the Red Hair Pirates, a whole Yonko crew, arriving there. The CoC incident here is literally no different than when Akainu got caught by surprised at MF with Shanks' CoC, where we see him sweating just like we see Aramaki sweating.
We have that same Red Hair Pirates being used to make just 1 guy back off, despite there already being an alliance that at least makes up the military prowess equivalent to 1 Yonko crew.
Remember when Kaido, which many in the Yonko fandom consider to be Top 1, backed off from the Red Hair pirates off-screen, despite having his strongest subordinate with him and despite there not being any other force outside of the Red Hair Pirates to take him on? Lol.
Concluding:
It took the threat of taking on an alliance that took down two Yonko, and the most hyped pirate crew out there right now (outside of Teach's) in order for GreenBull to back off just by himself.
THIS IS INSANE HYPE AND PORTRAYAL, that no other Yonko or Admiral has received so far in the manga.
Does this mean GB could take on two emperors? No, Two admirals? No. Since as Shanks pointed out the alliance members are still worn out. The point however is to claim GB has inferior portrayal or hype compared to any top tier and that this makes him look inferior to other admirals or fleet admiral or the yonko out there is ridiculous.
