Hello everyone! Take a seat while Monet brings us some cookies and any type of drink that you want, save for alcohol which may bring you out of mind for this theory.

The things we learned in chapter 905 about Greenbull is that he hasn't eaten in three years. He was also seen sunbathing. This seemed to prove the people who'd proposed him having a plant devil fruit right, that he uses photosynthesis for sustenance. However, other possibilites came to mind. For one, we know that there are reptiles that can go for long periods, some even for up to three years, without eating. This includes frogs, snakes, crocodylians, etc. This is because they're endothermic, i.e. cold blooded, meaning they don't utilize metabolism to maintain their internal body temperature. For that reason they also need to alternate between cold and warm temperatures and that's why we saw Greenbull sunbathing.

However, some of you're probably thinking that crocodiles are strong animals but that they're better suited in aquatic environments. I'll get to that later. However, in prehistoric times were crocodiles that were almost the twice the length of today's saltwater crocodiles. Some ancestors to modern crocodylians that were wiped out could actually stand erect on their hind legs which allowed to sprint in a decidedly more athletic fashion than their today modern counterparts. This made them into ferocious beasts, specialised for a terrestrial life and feared by all dinosaurs. In the video I go through some examples of different prehistoric crocs.

One other thing that's extraordinary about these super-crocs is the incredible bite force they would've had. Crocodiles and in particular the Nile Crociodle and slightly behind it the Saltwater crocodiles have by far the strongest bite force of any terrestrial life forms. Not even the bone-crushing champions among mammals, Spotted hyeans, come close. With a measured 3700 psi of force from a saltwater crocodile that equals about 1700 kg force. Skull size is often correlated with bite force in crocodylians. They did measure the bite force of an alligator which measured at 2125 psi which equals about a ton of force. The skull size of a prehistoric crocodile, Sarcosuchus, was 9 times that of an alligator: that makes for 9 tones of force. So crocodiles are damn powerful, that's for sure.

Also add the fact that in prehistoric times dinosaurs had skulls full of air pockets and fragile bones. Compare that to that of a crocodile which unlike the dinosaurs is one solid hunk. With their strong leathery hide and strong bones they are incredibly sturdy animals.

Have you ever seen crocodiles clash with one another? They often create large tears and gashes in each other's flesh, sometimes even ripping off entire limbs and body parts. You pick a random sample of let's say 10 crocodiles and at least one of them will miss at least one appendage, like a toe or tail, or even a foot and an arm in some cases. Yet they walk it off like it's nothing. Most animals would die from infections from those kinds of injuries but scientists have found that crocodiles have a natural antibiotic in their blood, as opposed to some reptiles who have it as well but not in their blood. This makes for a remarkable recovery. On top of being incredibly tough animals already, their ability to recuperate from injuries is absolutely astounding.

As pointed out by the username @Herr Krokodil studies have shown that the HIV virus is even suppressed by crocodilian blood, which I didn't know, so huge shoutout to my man for bringing this awesome fact to my attention!

One other thing about crocodiles is that they have a special heart valve that through the lungs allows them to actively route blood to any part of the body. That's how crocodiles manage to be submerged under deep water for hours. This is an evolutionary novelty not seen anywhere else in nature.

From Ennies Lobby arc we saw an ability called Life Return which effectively is a technique with which one can control one's bodily functions. As Kumadori explains it: "Humans are able to, from the hair on their head to their intestines, their toes, even to their most minute hairs, to concentrate their senses and stretch them to their limits, making it possible to control every part of their bodies." That's how Kumadori in CP9 managed to control his hair and Rob lucci to transfom into a lighter version of his jaguar form to increase speed and agility.

I think Greenbull will use Life return, or Seimei Kikan, to enhance the functions that are unique and extremely beneficial to crocodiles. For instance, with life return he will increase his pulmonary circulation to his muscles and thereby provide more oxygenated blood and nutrients for better efficiency and strength (did I forget to mention that crocodylian blood have a higher affinity for oxygen then other animals, well that's also an additional boon). He may also augment his healing ability by providing more blood to his wounds in order to heal better. In a way it would be analogous to Luffy who uses second gear. However, Luffy sort of flushes blood throughout the system whereas crocodiles have an evolutionary adaption with which they can actively control the blood circulation in their body. With haki and Life return, he'll do it more efficiently than Luffy, albeit not to the same extent because Luffy's organs are made of rubber.

The nail in the coffin, perhaps, is this piece of evidence: they can’t chew their food.

'You see, crocodiles' jaws aren't wired to move sideways, so they can't grind food down in a traditional chewing motion. What they can do, however, is rip off large chunks of their prey and swallow those chunks whole.'

"Eating is a pain in the ass" -Greenbull

Also, as pointed out by the username @Herr Krokodil again, male crocodile are also referred to as 'Bulls' by biologists and paleontologists and those who study them while female crocs are referred to as Cows so, and that's the nomenclature used in the scientific field. Again, great kudos for his observations and knowledge on the subject!

The video explains some additional details of the theory. Enjoy and sheers!

He never gets hungry supposedly, thats a hint for an mythical Zoan, or some weird ass paramecia that wouldnt be fearsome enough for an admiral. My personal favorite would be the ability to manipulate sound waves. It would be different to Apoo because it wouldnt be him to produce the sound, he could just raise (or lower) it to such heights that it becomes a destructive weapon. Would probably be too OP however

Check out this theory, I theorise about Apoo using cavitation as a weapon https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/for...gins-and-its-now-time-to-face-the-music.3803/

Oh no, I can tell you before even reading this thread how ridiculously monstrous Crocodiles are lol. Strongest bite force on planet earth, I believe? Something like 4 times stronger than Alligators?

Okay so I finished the thread. I would certainly like to see a Zoan Admiral, in fact those to words together by themselves would guarantee Green Bull a top 15 spot for me at bare minimum, but my main issue with this fruit for him is that it just really doesn’t seem like that powerful of a fruit for an admiral to have.

Aokiji can create ice continents with his finger tips and effortlessly stop tsunamis. Akainu can pull volcanoes up from the earth, and Fujitora can drop meteors from space lol. In comparison, I think I’m going to find any Zoan Fruit that is not a Mythical Zoan underwhelming for an Admiral, who are known, if nothing else, for their absurd Devil Fruit powers.

I’ll research prehistoric crocodiles more but the fruit just seems kind of underwhelming for an admiral imho. But great work on the theory and research lol.

Here's my video, for some reason it didn't play properly so I edited my post

If Garp can be a top tier w/o fruit, then Greenbull would just be like Garp but with incredible physical stats to boot. To me that would be refreshing, and he would fit right into this arc. But then again, it's my theory, hence the bias. I mean prehistoric crocs were some fearsome Chads that God saw fit to wipe out bc they dominated everything, It’d be appropriate for someone like an admiral to have a fruit like that ;)

Sounds cool but an Admiral deserves a mythical Zoan
Deinosuchus had the largest bite force ever known to man

To put it into perspective:
Crocodile bite force today: 3,700 PSI
T rex: 12,000 PSI
Megalodon: 110,000 PSI
Deinosuchus: 123,000 PSI

There's also Purrusaurus, which, along with Deinosuchus and Sarcosuchus were all heavier than T Rex - they are monstrous animals. Just google pictures of their skeletons

Fuck Sarcosuchus, I'm going with Deinosuchs then :) It would also be more adept at land than Sarcosuchus, and it seems it has a much bigger head, hence the greater bite force. Sarcosuchis is if you look at it more adept at hunting fish in an aquatic enviornment, though it had no problem taking down theropods either

Cant remember where I read it but the Deinosuchus has a Masseter muscle (the muscle that closes the jaw) which has the same weight as the average male human (75kg)... on each side of its skull.

It's an interesting idea though and I can get behind it

Wani Wani no Mi Model Deinosuchus/Sarcosuchus/Purrusaurus - they can go for ages without eating which can explain the fasting and the whole time theory shite (to do with space) can be represented through the ancient species

Plus a hybrid form would be whack

Jokes aside.
Ryokugyu = ( Green Bull )
Are we sure with expecting him to have something more than Bull zoan?
Bull is the scientific nomenclature used for male crocodiles, among other things like cattle, bulls, elephants, etc. Instead of saying female crocodile they refer to it as a “cow” and the male as a “bull”. Hence, Greenbull
