Again he has probably less than a year after they reach the last island. I think whitebeard and ace was destined to meet but again i think whitebeard was also shock that ace was his son. Because everythjng that Ace dreams when he set sail to the sea was on whitebeard ship

It was Sengoku who said that Whitebeard goal was to make Ace the pirate king. Remember what Ace did to Wano how he help those people? And he even invaded the onigashima by himself? Its because what you see on Luffy thats how Ace lives his pirate life! Preety sure Luffy and Sabo got the idea of being a pirate like that from Ace and thats how they live theor life you know. Thats why its so very important for Sabo to get Ace devil fruit because his will was there it was once the power that help people when ace had it.
