After the disasters that happened to Impel Down during its eponymous arc with the chaos caused by Luffy and his allies, and by Blackbeard's arrival and breakout of the worst criminals of Level 6, as well as Shiryu's actions and Boa Hancock helping Luffy to get inside the prison, what would be the measures that you would make to reinforce the security and defenses of Impel Down and prevent these from happening again ?

What defenses and features would you reinforce in Impel Down ? What new security devices, traps, weapons and also which new beasts and guards would you add to the prison ?

Simple - pirates are not to visit the Prison except as prisoners.

1. Have a Warden that's competent and not I'm the bathroom 90% of the time

2. Hire stronger and efficient help, I'd at the very least assign at least one Admiral to the prison along with a few pacifista's on each floor also spread the jailer beast throughout the prison

bubble tech (bubbles, bubble shields), pacifista, one or more seraphim (s flamingo and/or s snake would work well), a permanent naval perimeter with self-destruction measures for each ship, maybe move the cipher pol training camp here, bomb collars, small amounts of seastone put it each df-possessing prisoner's food, regular marine inspection, a consultation with vegapunk as well as having him make stuff for impel down idk, maybe a device that can create a huge seastone net that can cover the whole exterior like doffys birdcage (not saying that vegapunk would make that 'cause it can already be done at a smaller scale, i just happened to put this at the end)

maybe they could put levels/certain areas on "lockdown", sealing them and then flooding them with sea water?

1. Modulate the prison so you can self destruct certain walls and flood a region, killing any fruit users that escaped.
2. Train a new division of Cipher Pol specifically to keep an eye on levels 4, 5 & 6.
3. Have other Cipher Pol teams take irregular “tours” of levels 1, 2 & 3 to give them experience and add a level of unpredictable ness to Impel Down.
4. Have Pacifista be sentries on Impel Downs most outward defenses.

they could sent in peeps with dfs that would be really effective in securing a prison like impel down
have rules put in place that would force the staff to contact outside help (marines, cipher pol, maybe even trusted civilian bounty hunters, etc / to make this more likely to work that could place permanent marine and cipher pol/government representatives inside to prevent attempted coverups)

No it's actually due to Magellan eating poisoned food which causes him digestion problems.

1-A small army of pacifistas should be stationed there at all times.
2-Create a especial division group to guard the place(DF users that are around~high tier vice admiral level).
3-Create something similar to those walls in Marineford, so in case of a riot/break in, all of them are trapped inside.
4-Either capture Sea kings and release them on the sea around the prison or have Vegapunk craft some robots for the purpose of making it harder for Fishmen, Humans and coated ships/submarines to safely travel underwater around that place.
5-All prisoners are to wear explosive devices on their necks that will go off once they are far from a certain distance from the prison.
6-Warlords visits shouldn't be allowed anymore.
7-Built some kind of device that will release different types of gas in all prison levels. There should be both lethal and non-lethal options.
8-All devil fruits users will wear Kairoseki chains. Why the fuck was Crocodile not chained with that stuff?
9-Actually fire incompetent staff like Hannyabal.
10-Keep Magellan as the Warden.
11-Have a couple of warships patrolling the perimeter of Impel Down 24/7.

It’s fine as it is, basically only a top-tier ever broke out and the MC. It seems like top-tiers will be escorted by admirals and get executed anyways. They made a mistake by not having an admiral watch Shiki.

3: don’t hire some useless staff or psychopaths

4: use the bomb collars that kaido used but better

5: separate the prisoners more instead of stuffing 50 in a cell, expand the damn place too

6: rehabilitation, some pirates don’t need to be sent to impel down, like sugar or some random innocent npc who didn’t do anything
