Yes, you can say I'm basically crazy right now, but I managed to find the necessary facts, along with the Japanese teacher, of course.
This page is from Chapter 932 of One Piece and is part of the original manga and volume. It reads as follows

I was looking for the original panel to verify the difference between what is written here and what is said during Kaido's introduction, and after a long search, I found it.
You can use any tool of your preference to copy the text in case you can't see anything like I do.
You can compare kanji with kanji, but there's no way around what is written where I circled, and what is written in Kaido's introduction is the same thing: "「最強の生物」と呼ばれる海賊," which translates to "A pirate called 'the strongest creature.'"

Look, the crazy thing, Kaido being called or known doesn't make much of a difference up to this point, but VIZ translating it as "said to be" is the biggest joke I've ever seen.
Literally, I fear, a Japanese teacher saying this, a guy in a tweet saying this, and me literally pointing out that the same phrase was translated differently in the official version, with one of the translations perfectly matching everything that is said about this phrase.

what's funny is Sandman who is a native japanese who each time mentions if there is any errors in the old Viz never mentioned that , also i'm sticking with Viz translator like i sticked to << seeing stars >> quote of Viz for Kizaru ; Now it became very funny to discredit a Famous Viz translator for agendas around .
