We know very well why the manga industry is a disappointment. Maybe I've found the answer to this problem: The webcomics.
While reading articles on Tv Tropes, I saw that the site lists webcomics as a form of media. I decided to check it out recently and was pleasantly surprised. It uses the idea of comics written as linear stories divided into chapters, which in turn are divided into volumes.
It is a form of self-publishing, which has great advantages such as creative freedom and less pressure during work, which are some of the reasons for the degeneracy of the manga industry.
I finished bingereading three webcomics: The Mash, Clockwork and Trying Human. I can say that they are high quality original stories and I recommend them. They are published on their own websites.
If other people here are already familiar with this form of media and know of other webcomics they can recommend to the rest of us, let's use this thread to talk about it. Webcomics can be what the manga industry failed to be, so we can make them a focus topic on the forum.
