Ida is the reason for the current predicament of Elbaf, she is essentially the reason why Harald and Xebec died.

If Harald did not meet Ida or got rizzed up / inspired by her, he would never have attempted to seek relationship with the rest of the world and he would have been able to help Rocks in God Valley.

He wouldn’t have had to die at the hands of his son.

On paper it's clean and symmetrical, but in execution it's quite lackluster. Shaky was a nonentity in GV, and Harald's pursuit of diplomacy and pacifism is making more casualties than if he'd stuck to his people's warrior code.
