Why would he come back
No one gives a shit about him lol
Should have made it look like Maki or todo died and bring them back instead lol
That would have maybe made a couple people happy

Just two more chapters and this series will be put out of it's misery. It's a shame really.
I've never seen someone speedrun fumbling a potentially multibillion franchise just as it entered its prime.

It's a complete rushjob and it shows.

Maybe Gege just didn't like living with that sort of pressure, maybe this is what he genuinely planned on all along (it's not impossible), but whatever his reasons, he done fucked up.

What a regrettable lapse in judgment and quality.

If the series booms many get enough money for their grandkids early on so they lose all their motivation and stop caring. They just can't wait to retire and play Dragon Quest.

I actually can’t wait for this to be over.

The drop off will generate content for years. You’re going to be seeing videos in your feed about it even in the 2040s.
Yeah it’s bad and the decline was crazy

But the série will also be remembered « positively » with Gojo vs Sukuna fight and how hyped it was

I think JJK will have that as legacy but ouside of that nothing will be remembered much in 10/20y

and if the anime doesn’t fuck up Gojo vs Sukuna can be even more a banger

I don't blame them. It's hard, back-breaking, health-ruining work with obscene hours. It's only worse when you're more successful because, the workload simply outpaces the additional assistants and resources.

That fight was entertaining and I'm sure the anime will deliver, but I think everything after it just being so disatissfying will poison the well for discourse.

That's the one silver lining I see in this is that the critique will be levied at Gege moreso than manga, meaning, people will look at JJK's flaws and not hate the manga for it but resent Gege.

imo, the dude fucked up BAD, and I wonder how this will impact his relationships going forward. If he doesn't have another mega hit in him, or several smaller scale but sustainable successes that are still worthwhile, I can see him finding himself standing in some cold rooms.

You never fuck with the money without consequence.

Many of the decently successful don't even need to go out weekly I think. Look at Togashi, Murata, Itagaki, idk. They just lose their enthusiasm because they have made it anyway, some people are happy with the millions they have made and any effort they have to make to get more is seen as a waste. In a way, it's not wrong either.

It's wild to me how people think about artists whose work they don't even pay for. 2/3 manga you mentioned have known health problems, and I only say 2/3 because I don't know enough about Itagaki.

Togashi can't physically sit up right anymore without pain and has to draw lying on his back, but you think the guy is just lazy and resting on his laurels.

Murata has undisclosed health conditions (speculated to be gut or autoimmune related) and has spoken about his poor mental health and how both have have contributed to making life difficult for his family.

It's obscenely entitled behaviour to think of these individuals as lazy or unmotivated. Rethink this position.

99% of the time mangakas probably exaggerate it. There's a ton of more physically demanding jobs and they don't cry about it as much as mangakas, whose condition often also comes from the fact that they choose a shitty posture themselves. Togashi is rich, his wife is even richer, they are both mangaka celebrities and he probably doesn't care much about his project and he'd rather enjoy his millions, which even makes sense if you think about it and we usually get his shit for free anyway so whatever.

The biggest lol for me is people shitting on a mangaka's art or pace while spending a cumulative 0 dimes on anything official. Literally no money has been made from you yet you pretend to pay the dude's salary.

When I shit on Gege for example I shit on his poor storytelling choices. Any and every break he took was welcomed and no reason to complain when the industry standards have been known to us for years now

So will the glazing finally end and we can all admit that Jujutsu Kaisen is worse than My Hero and Chainsaw Man? I'm surprised the one thing it had going for it was the fights and high stakes and within the past 3 chapters you have Nobara screwing up Sukuna's chances in just one chapter, Uraume being offscreened, Yuta/Higurama/Nobara being Disney-tier saved, etc.

Like...wow. It's like the first half of the manga feels like a completely different type of series.

Nobara and Yuta being fine was foreshadowed. Nobara status was kept vague and Arata gave her a chance of survival. With Yuta Gege kept showing us Rika holding onto his body so people speculated that she was going to do something to save him

Higuruma is a legit head scratcher. He’s a cool character but he served his purpose and had a pretty cool last hurrah before he “died”. There’s no point in bringing him back aside from fan service

The foreshadowing part is correct, don't get me wrong I love Nobara. She's one of my favorites, My problem was with how Gege never told us (the readers, not Yuji/Megumi) that she was fine for an entire half of the story. Her coming back at the end felt like a Transformers/Fast and Furious tier movie climax. And then, boom, she ends Sukuna's chances within a chapter. Like....what? It was a lose/lose situation for Gege honestly to bring her back or not.

Yeah Sukuna's body bag is now just Gojo, Kashimo, and Choso for Shinjuku, right?
