The movie "Kingdom" is based on a national hit manga that has sold a total of 84 million copies. It was said to be impossible to make into a live-action film due to its grand scale, but when it was released in 2019, its box-office revenue exceeded 5.73 billion yen and it was the No. 1 Japanese live-action film of the year. The film also made a huge impact on the film industry, being selected for many film awards. Encouraged by the enthusiasm of the fans who wanted a sequel, the project was ready to start again. But then, the new coronavirus raged around the world. The production staff and cast were forced to make major changes from the original production system, and were placed in an unprecedented environment. Even so, the fire for the sequel never died down. Filming began in June 2020 in various parts of Japan and China in stages under high alert, and the film was finally cranked up in October 2021. The film will be released in the summer of this year. The film is directed by Shinsuke Sato, and reunites a splendid cast including Kento Yamazaki as the main character Shin, Ryo Yoshizawa as Eisei, Kanna Hashimoto as Karyoten, and Takao Osawa as Oki. The screenplay was written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa and Yasuhisa Hara, who also wrote the original story, and added original scenes and dialogues devised by the author himself. The title of the film has been decided as "Kingdom 2: Harukanaru Daichi e". In the teaser visual revealed this time, there is a dynamic figure of Nobu holding the reins and sword on his horse. His appearance is more drifting and slow than in the previous work, and the copy of "The Continuation of the Dream Begins" suggests a battlefield and drama on a larger scale than in the previous work.
