I can't imagine them being as powerful as the admirals, especially in their old age. They can definitely hold their own though, and I think the scars prove it. Plus, one of them even has a katana.

My theory from earlier. Only clashes in an attempt to escape, get VP out of there without a full scale battle but maybe Sanji ends up fighting Saturn to allow the others escape/sacrifice and kills him fulfilling his words in TB but loses his mind in the process.

I only figure since killing one of the Gorosei would definitely put him as most wanted like he said or at least competing with Luffy for the spot
