Although Sulong Neko should be much stronger than Perospero, I am confident that something will happen to turn the tides of their battle, whether that be the BMP showing up or the moon being obstructed from Neko’s view, causing him to exit Sulong and experience the fatigue that comes from it. Ask yourself this. Why did Oda not have Perospero die along with Pedro? Pero dying along with Pedro would have made Pedro’s death feel more impactful and important, yet Oda didn’t do it. Oda had Perospero survive for a reason, but what was that reason? Pero did nothing really important afterwards in WCI, and he hasn’t had a vital role in Wano either. If Pero was brought to Onigashima just to do essentially nothing but be a minor annoyance before losing to Neko, then his inclusion in this arc would be total filler. Neko didn’t need to prove himself against Perospero; however, Carrot does. The reason why Perospero was brought here was so that Carrot could have some character development and so that she could have some importance in bringing “the dawn,” as Pedro wanted. Yeah you can say that Neko beating Perospero is justified because Pedro was a close friend and subordinate of Neko, but their relationship just doesn’t work the same way that Pedro’s and Carrot’s relationship does. Neko and Pedro had basically no meaningful interactions in the manga, and Carrot’s revenge has clearly been built up much more than Neko’s revenge. Carrot will be the one to finish off Perospero.

But I like Neko as well so 
I look at how much Peros was a character full of layers with lots of personality and charisma ... Unfortunately, having an end as unfair to their complexity and competence.
