Who will be the Next Strawhat?

So a question guys. We know that usually the Strawhats fight the main opponents during an arc.
So let’s say in the final Arc it’s Luffy vs Imu. Who will take the gorosei on? It’s always possible that strong allies join like Kid and Law. But assuming that’s not the case Luffy needs 5 top level fighter and he currently has 3 that I thing in the future might stand a chance against a gorosei. Zoro, Sanji, jinbe. So 2 more slots need to be filled. I would say Yamato is a good contender and has the power to defeat one of them in the future. But we need one more and I don’t see Bonney, Stussy, Lilith, Larrot or any of the current strawhats reach that level.
What do you guys think?

How about Usopp? His dream is to become strong. So, maybe the 4th slot is for him as it would perfectly align with his dream? As for the 5th - I think you know, who I think this will be... . :catblush:

His dream is to become brave, not strong

Anyway, @Monkey D Al I think the final war is more likely to be a mix of everyone fighting everyone based on self interest. The SHs themselves will fight Gods knights. There's 10 of them based off the silhouettes we've seen, and Luffy will fight Imu, so if 1 more person joins then the numbers add up.

Anyway, the Gorosei I feel could be handled by completely different opponents. It'll be a mix of Pirates, Marines and Revolutionaries depending on who reacts in what way to finding out more about the Gorosei and the monstrosities they are. Aramaki will probably side with the Gorosei?. Unsure where Sakazuki lands. Issho and Borsalino will fight against them. Then there's also all the Cipher Pols and Member State military members to deal with too. Then Marines like Smoker and Sword members would probably fight someone important too. It's virtually impossible to tell.

But if I had to guess the Gorosei wouldn't fight the SHs at all; it could more likely be some of the following matchups (and this is assuming all these characters are alive EOS - im assuming Teach has already been dealt with too btw):
Ju Peter - Dragon or Issho
Nusjuro - Mihawk or Shanks
Warcury - Law or Sakazuki
Mars - Sabo or somehow if something really weird happens, Aramaki
Saturn vs Borsalino or Kidd

Obviously not set in stone because i could totally see Aramaki vs Sakazuki or Issho (for real this time) as well

Matchups based on the Gorosei's roles/responsibilities. Also who i can see them pairing well with for an interesting fight. Saturn vs Borsalino is self explanatory, Kidd is more because Saturn's all about tech etc and so is Kidd. Nusjuro matchups is just swords go brrr. Warcury vs Law is based on the fact Law doesn't need to deal damage through external wounds and that can bipass Warcury's abilities. As for Sakazuki its because they seem to have a particularly heated relationship. Ju Peter vs Dragon or Issho is because I see Issho as the post final war fleet admiral and guy in charge, and Dragon is in charge of the Revs and their powers all revolve around wind or forces and launching shit at eachother, also Ju Peter is Gorosei no. 1... you get the gist.

I'm probably completely wrong here but I can totally see Garling vs Zoro in future

Let’s be honest Ussop fighting a Gorosei is doesn’t make sense. He is nowhere near that level. As for Lucci I don’t see him on that level either. Even if he becomes and ally or even joins the strawhats the highest I see him fighting is a holy knight(not Garling) or maybe an admiral.

I agree with your points. I also believe a lot of characters will join the fight, however I do still think that the marines will side with the WG. If most Marines side with Luffy, plus Revo’s, shanks and his crew, Mihawk, his allies and the grand fleet, sword vs Imu + gorosei + 10 holy knights and a few marines. It’s not even close of an equal fight.
Also VP said that it was a clash of Ideals and it is totally possible that a lot of Marines once they find out what those ideals are that they decide that Imu’s ideals are the better option and decide to fight for him. This is just what i believe but I think it will be more like:
Imu, gorosei, holy knights, sakazuki, Kizaru, ryokugyu, fujitora(potentially sides with Luffy), 90% of the marines + a lot of the countries that are still with the WG vs Luffy, strawhats, grand fleet, shanks crew, Kuzan, Revo’s, Sword, some additional allies like, Kuja pirates, alabasta, drum island, Skypia(yes viper will be back), dressrosa, wanokuni, Elbaf, fishaman island, and all the other allies.
Only this way is it a more even all out war. If most marines side with Luffy than the countries will also join and then it suddenly just Imu and the CDs.

Franky? He does get to shine from time to time.
Also maybe Brook will surprise us with a pu.

If not, then the rest of SHP may gang up on one of the elders.

That is possible, just the thought that on the scale the final war will be on. I do think the Strawhats will be busy each fighting a strong opponent. Franky, Brook, robin, nami, usopp will all be fighting Vice admirals(the stronger ones). Or holy knights.

The Marines will be split and Pirates will fight for their own self-interest so you will most likely have Marines and Pirates fighting on both sides. Where did I say the Marines as a whole would turn on the World Government? I only said I can see the Admirals (bar Ryokugyu maybe) fighting the Gorosei

You're also ignoring that the WG have all the Pacifistas and Seraphim on their side as well as the Mother Flame. God's knights are 10 powerful warriors and proves there's scope for some other Tenryuubito to actually be capable fighters; and the Gorosei are unkillable seemingly. Plus Imu. Then there's also CP0-CP9. Plus their own loyal affiliate nations. No matter which way you cut it, the Marines have a very small part to play other than the key individuals.

I didn’t say that you said all the marines would fight against them. It’s logical to assume that if the leaders(sakazuki, borsalino, issho) switch sides that a lot of marines will do so as well. If not they will stay. The godknights are for sure strong but until they are introduced and their strength shown I will not put them all on the same level as Garling. Similar as not all VA have the same strength and also within the CP9 and CP0 there are massive strength differences.

I also never implied they'd all be on the same level as Garling, who has been marked out as their number 1, quite clearly, and multiple times. I said previously i could see Zoro vs Garling happening. Why would you get from that, that I think Usopp is also going to fight a knight on the same level, for example? That simply was never the implication. My point is the headcount matches up, so it's possible.

If anyone says Strawhats will fight X group, nobody is inferring, or has EVER inferred they'll all be equally tough fighters. This has never happened with any villain group before and never will. I genuinely am a bit miffed about how this is the way you're interpreting what I was saying? I do not understand how this was a possible conclusion.

Obviously, we'll get 3 knights who are particularly strong (vs Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe), 3 knights who are quite strong, probably on a similar level to someone like Doffy for Franky, Robin and Brook to fight, then 3 weaker ones who are still ultra competent, but have highly specialised skills rather than combat skills, who will fight Nami, Chopper and Usopp

My point with naming the other groups is they're groups of people you're excluding, perhaps deliberately to push a specific idea. The government's forces are immense. I also forgot to add, but should add Sengoku and Kong here too. Like, point is, the WG has way more strong fighters than you give them credit for even if a large number of marines defect.

Yes the WG does have a large number of strong fighters. I will state my point a little more clearly so it’s not misunderstood. We have seen couple of times that even strong fighters mean nothing to top tiers and at the end it’s all about what the strongest of the strong do and achieve. The pacifistas on Egghead were rendered useless the moment Nasjuro appeared. Because he was to strong for them. If we assume, that 2-3 admiral level fighters deflect from the WG, that is a big loss and huge gain for Luffy. The pacifistas are under bonneys control excluding the seraphim that do not look like Kuma. So 6.
Let’s do the math. Imu + gorosei, plus Garling, plus 3 admirals and Sakazuki. Sengoku and Kong are to old.
That’s makes 11 potentially 13 top fighters.
Let’s look the other side: Luffy, zoro, Sanji, jinbe, Yamato, shanks, dragon, Sabo, mihawk, law, kid, ben backman,Kuzan, Rayleigh. 14 top fighters and a lot of more fighter at the level of commanders on his side. This can easily be equalized by introducing strong VA of course. This way it is more or less equal. But if 3 out of 4 admirals deflect than the WG with all their fodders are done as Luffy can muster and equal amount of fodder once all the nations he has saved join his side.
My point is that it’s the top fighters that count at the end. It was said that if Luffy lost against Kaido that kaido alone would have whipped the floor with the rest. Even characters at the level of king, katakuri, weevil, doffy might prove useless at the end. I’m not putting the seraphim’s in here. I still don’t know at what level to put them in.
I’m just saying while the WG has high numbers loosing 3 admirals is big loss even for them. And I don’t think that it will happen. I do believe that the marines will stay with WG except Sword.

Yes lol

Your agenda is dead too.
So, preview of the next chapter reads: "The outbreak of the major incident that will shake the world!"

Meaning the peak of Egghead has not really happened, yet. And look what Oda is currently focussing on - the damaged relationships of the CP0 agents. :ihaha:

Remember: You will wear an avi for 8 months, if Lucci joins.
