To be fair, we all know if Carrot joins the crew, Chopper is going to make a moon dust pill or some shit that lets Carrot go Su Long whenever.
If that’s the case, it’s true then that Carrot is female Chopper. Even worse, that she is depending on the pills to go Sulong form. Heck, Chopper has more forms, and not always depending on rumble ball to change forms

There is a clear difference of treatment between those two reveal. denying that is naive .. at best. If you want to play, i'm gonna play.

Carrot was there to showcase the abilities of the Minks in a winning scenario of course the Sulong ability that was already mention by the dukes (who said they would have dominated the invaders who almost wipe out the country) to be a massive transformation, would be a dramatic reveal

Its the power up that gives an entire side of our army a fighting chance

Where as Yamato is just apart of her combat list, its an ability but doesn't need to be over blown, especially because she is put in a situation that even she herself said she wouldn't win

So putting an unnecessary amount of hype behind a reveal just for her to inevitably lose would be pointless

Which is why she showcased her abilities in the fight against a foe she wouldn't beat but still showed she was capable, showing her ability without undermining them because she already recognized she is fighting a loosing fight

Where as Carrot Sulong was over exaggerated and then proceeded to disable ships and beat fodder making her ability come off as just that powerful

The context to the reveals matter, its lends nothing to their candidacy as a new crew member, if that were the case then Dalton would have joined the crew given how his Zoan was revealed

Let me indeed, put the transformation of Carrot into context. This is not just the abilities of the minks that was demonstrated here, it was Carrot's radiance using that power. The subject of chapter 888 is not "the mink tribe" it's Carrot. And you can check no non strawhat has never been depicted like Carrot was in chapter 888. As a centerpiece of a master piece. None. Even some strawhats themself have never been depicted with such visual and narrative showcase.

So yes, we must put into context those two transformation, but we had to to it right. We have to put them into the context of the entire story to see why one of them matter so much.

Carrot's transformation was not just "over exaggerated" Oda made it look like a transformation coming from a 1001 night folk tales.

This is importante because it shows HOW Oda actually sees the protagonist.

When Luffy shares food with another character, he doesn't "don't care" about them
Luffy wants a big banquet after the war with the non-SH allies which include Carrot and fodders who'll survive the war...

But that doesn't mean that Oda and Luffy really care about them...

Carrot and Pekoms are just tools to demonstrate how Sulong works... Why them? Because they're weaker than the main guys in Inu and Neko...

Yeah yeah yeah.. ^^ in the meantime, we are still waiting for Luffy to share food with YamaO

You can't really think all these arbitrary fanmade rules mean more than the current direction of the story itself. You're just looking at any random thing that happened with Carrot and calling it a criteria that a new nakama must fulfil. Do you have any ides how many non-crew members Luffy shared food with? And even if it mattered, what chance was there for them to eat together? They met in the middle of a battle that hasn't ended yet. After Wano Luffy will no doubt share food with the whole alliance, including Yamato. And before you make up another rule and say end of arc parties don't count, Luffy didn't share food with Franky until the end of arc party either.

Also he never shared food with Robin before she joined the crew so this is meaningless anyway.

Nah, I'm just looking at characterization. Luffy proposed meat to Carrot. Something he almost never does (he said it himself, he does NOT like to do it). It shows he cares about her. That straight up fact is boxing against the argument that Yamato has somehow a better "complicity" with Luffy than Carrot. This is wrong, and one panel proves it.
