On what basis should i judge mihawk based on black blade literally no one except zoro gives a fuck about, by fight strongest mihawk fought on panel vista, lol, by title WSS, luffy would be strongest creature and alainu should be strongest man.
Characters in the verse have told us black blades are the pinnacle of what can be achieved by any swordsman, not just Zoro cares about them, its just that if you are not a strong swordsman, you will never archive black blade.

List of those who failed to reach black blades:
1. Roger
2. Rayleigh
3. Shanks* - still has a chance
4. Oden
5. Fujitora* - still has a chance
6. Linlin

Yes Mihawk fought Vista, and Killer fought Kaidou and Linlin so I guess Killer is stronger than Mihawk then, you solved it

Oda can simply highlight shanks over mihawk in any quality he wishes yet he doesn't but he does clarify Shanks is a swordmans ,his swordmanship is below mihawk and Mihawk is the current WSS.

:bamathink:
So hard to get the message huh?
To add...
Heck I don't think anyone can bring an argument on what ties Oda hands in highlighting his power over Mihawk ,Oda nonchalantly did it against an admiral after all.

I guess the reason would be simple by story logic you can't have any swordman above the current WSS. He could be comparable? Yes. stronger ? nope.

The Marines aren't us. They don't need "feats" to scale someone, we are talking about a manga where people can literally judge a character's strength by looking at them (see Rayleigh on Ruskaina). Akainu's words in Marineford to Jinbe heavily hints that the Marines know just how strong the Warlords each individually are. Same with Kuzan asking the Admirals to be dispatched for Doflamingo.
you're insinuating that they used Observation haki to gauge Shanks and Mihawk and deduced that Mihawk is more superior in swordsmanship?
:kaidowhat:
this whole statement is completely and utterly vague... why aren power levels a thing if thats how its supposed to be
there has never been a case where this CoO is used practically in a 1v1 fight to measure skill +strength on top of that

thats absolutely baseless.. and even in Rayleigh's case he was alluding to the haki of other monsters on the island and compared luffy's flagrant inferiority of it to them...

its an assumption that cannot be substantiated to increase its likelihood coz never in OnePiece has CoO been used to determine superiority in skill and physical strength in a specific art style

- its based on the assumption that marines know everything even skills and outcomes of matches based off of CoO which is a rough estimate and vague (when its mostly used to just indicate if opponents are strong or not) when the logical assumption would be Mihawk's and the sihchibukai's notoriety in general before them joining hand with Marines..especially when notoriety is why most Shichibukai were even offered the title to begin with

- you don't seem to question the material Marines have or are just blindly following statements that have no solid premise to substantiate them, and given that the story never indicates that Shanks lost duels against Mihawk yet somehow Shanks is supoosed to be blatantly inferior by just a flipin CoO.. wtf is this dood

Also why are you ignoring that this is direct exposition dump about Shanks v Mihawk from Oda?
thats yor interpretation... i don't take what marines say seriously especially when there are outdated basis and assumptions involved in it..

you switch from marines knowing who Mihawk fought in the decade to them sensing ones ability and skill against another top tier with CoO magically.. which is unprecedented and never was used to determine an outcome if a fight

ig get agendas but not disingenuousness

its flagrant how desperate yall are ofc thats your prerogative to bet on unlikely scenarios to suit agendas..
