The Franky theme we have ain't too distant nevertheless.
Yeah. There are some obvious connections of importance if people pay attention I feel:
- The Scabbards early on were being set up for a climactic, clearly losing battle with Kaido. There is a slight connection between Denjiro/Sasaki, however at this point I dont think it'll actually lead to anything important. Potentially both survive the war and have a conversion but tbh I dont think there is some major battle being set up between both. As such, i don't think they are tied to any major battle outside of this loss. They were used to distract Kaido while everyone else is further characterized (Queen's virus, Sanji saving Momo, Apoo + Numbers, Strawhat regroup, Drake betrayal, Big Mom, Marco, Perospero, etc).
- So far Orochi, Kanjuro, Fuku, and Hotei are all relatively minimal in terms of presence. Potentially we get more from them soon, but as of yet they are just background as of yet.
- Similarly, the Numbers aren't really that impressive (relative to the strawhats)
- Kid and Killer are heading to the top, as Luffy/Jinbe are. Potentially Jinbe is stopped by Jack since Jack took the elevator in the mansion to the roof.
- Hawkins and Apoo are weird atm and I wonder if they are flipping sides now that both have been defeated by the opposition
- Drake and Law are interesting but I assume will head to the roof too.
- Sasaki is already positioned to face Franky it seems
- Queen is already taking relative interest in Sanji
- Nami/Usopp already have had a (losing) battle with Ulti, which may lead to a 2nd round once they have increased resolve or something
- Black Maria is currently with Sanji, indicating the possibility of someone switching out with Sanji (Robin?) while he deals with someone stronger.
- This leaves Page 1 and WsW, who both seem to conveniently match with Chopper and Brook thinking about it.
- Won't guess Zoro vs. King, but if the rest of the above is true, then I certainly see it happening.
What we are seeing here is the strawhats encountering and dealing with the F6 and potentially the Calamities, while the Scabbards lose against a Yonko, and subsequently the Supernova Captains taking their place.
There really is no alternative unless we assume Supernova or surviving Scabbards take on these characters, nobody else is here in the arc. Its not interesting for Marco to fight any of these characters either, outside of potentially King which really doesn't resolve anything or make anyone stronger. It's best the people who surpass Beast Pirate members are mainstays in the story.
Now if the BMPs come into play, then it gets interesting cause that's another 6-7 powerhouses right there to fight.
