Decent episode

Holy shit i wasn't expecting Kaido to behead Orochi's head what a savage.

Kanjuro actually plays a good villain and he can draw actual pictures lol remember when we thought in Dresrossa he couldn't draw at all lol

The Kaido/Big Mom scene saying they are going after the "one piece" was pretty bad ass.

  • Kaido and Big Mom synchronizing their voices to a big thunderbolt:believe:

  • I like that Orochi starts out as an innocent white soul and is beaten and tainted into a vengeful black shadow like his perpetrators.

  • Kaido turns his back on Orochi's rant, cracks his neck, slowly walks over to Momo then sees King offer his sword. He thinks about it...then just says screw everything before grabbing the blade and killing Orochi. Some funny character acting.
  • Even Luffy wants that Yamato fanservice already.:shocking:

  • Kanjuro using ink substitutes, ink projectiles, ink soldiers, his hair as a weapon, personal pleas and fake appeareances to emotionally trigger Kiku. The fight Kanjuro and Kiku deserved.:catcry:

  • Of course a brush can't block a red lightsaber. Dark side demon Kiku too OP.
  • It's literally curtains for Kanjuro.:milaugh: The bleeding sakura and the background turning into a theatrical stage was great.

  • The Kin-Izo bro shake and the 9 shadows walking away with that loud jubilating music are making me tear up here.
An enjoyable episode with two focused halves. It's one of those with a lot of interesting visual flair and creative sequences, good OST choices too, but the art and animation is unable to keep up giving the whole thing a low quality vibe. An example is Orochi's physical execution looking too plain and clean to leave much impact by itself, but seeing his tilting POV then everyone's reactions in red before the head drops on the floor made it a nice moment.

Kanjuro Vs Kiku turned an offpanel into a respectable fight of good length, emotional weight with personal stakes and an even back and forth. When you think Kanjuro is already down and its over anticlimactically, it's one of Kanjuro's shenanigans and Kiku was mentally conflicted over a clone. Similarly, when it looks like Kanjuro almost got Kiku, we see Kiku falling on stage before holding firm and having parried the attack. The episode also sells that Kanjuro is dead here, where as a manga offpanel is a red flag that Oda's not done with him yet. Kiku and Kanjuro's VAs this episode, the ham actor going full Joker and complimenting Kiku at the end, were the icing on the cake.
Next episode looks like a big one. Didn't think Marco Vs Peros was worthy of sakuga.:phoenixmarco:

Very good episode.

It's moments like this that make me appreciate the anime. In the manga, Kiku and Kanjuro's clash was very brief, but the added music and direction made this moment even better.

And the Yamato fanservice was great
