This is so sadly true though, its all about the Post TS now. We need a missing persons poster for Fujitora but not certain other characters anymore, cough and Im still salty Oda offscreened the whole Green Bull vs Weevil thing too. Same with the fate of Perona on Beehive and if she found Moria too, she must have surely ofc?
But yeah Im setting my standards extremely low for the Holy Shites. Oda is gonna make some if not most of them stupidly goofy and we'll be expected to find them funny. Odas designs pre TS were much better but a lot of Oda's angels insist they were just as goofy and similar, when that isn't true, it wasn't so flanderised/exaggerated pre TS and they still had actual character, charisma and made us laugh unlike most of his post TS characters and designs.
Oda has been so fucking disrespectful to the Marines for well over a decade now and its just saddening. They (especially the Admirals), were the most hype, important, badass, epic, intimidating, stylish, coolest etc antagonists pre TS, although Crocodile, Enel, Lucci and such gave them just as much competition easily ofc. I love his writing for Fujitora and humanising some of the Marines but thats it.....Garp was really cool showing off on Beehive too finally but again we're getting breadcrumbs when we saw more than that pre TS and we should be seeing FAR more now! It doesnt help Luffy vs Kizaru was such a damn letdown too, also worsened by Kizaru taking 9 months just to get to Egghead! Sigh!
Also we got imo the best OP movie storywise, at least from the more recent OP films thanks to it focusing on the Marines and thus Admirals too. But I've yet to see Baron Omatsuri or any of the earlier OP films so my opinion is not the "best" to rely on lmao.
I see the Revs being used as hype tools for the Holy Knights too, I have zero hype for them, theres so many issues with them suddenly being mentioned in the story now but Garling has potential to be an interesting, badass and truly resentable antagonist at least. I find him more interesting than the Gorosei except for Nusjuro who he is equal to at best imo. Although Mars is pretty great unexpectedly, I thought he was gonna be one of the more boring, forgettable Gorosei if not the most lol.
Film Red made the Admirals look so bad to hype up Shanks and Uta too lol sigh.
