At first, Haki was simply meant to be a counter to DFs specifically Logias if I recall. Then Oda realized how cool Nen is and tried to copy it.
So the concept of "Anti-Devil Fruit" wouldn't be new.
Imu should be at least partially connected to the origin of the Devil Fruits, maybe he has some fucking tree where they spawn in that secret Garden or whatever.
