Anime Staff: “When drawing a battle in the anime that did not appear in the manga, we will make sure we have Oda's approval, and we will express it and merge it with the manga content as much as possible.”

Well, that settles the debate then.

Oda basically said hes not giving 2 shits about anime so he probably approves w/e too.

Does not settles the debate because he himself said that he felt distressed when in the film Z they revealed Aokiji's injuries and that when they do something like that that he does not show in the manga or has not revealed it, he feels without wanting to draw the character involved.
I think that interview is because the Rocks incident in the anime is approaching and they think they put filler like crazy who knows

Anime is not canon. It's been clearly already. If the anime is canon then I guess RS Sanji run away from Page One and Base Sanji also low diff full Zoan form Drake while those never happen in the manga.
