Only reason they struggled against Pacifista is because they couldn't bypass it's Hard Armor & it fired Non-Stop
Two Things that Metal Knight have both

But the difference is that Metal Knight is Remotely Controlled by a Genius, can Fly & have different kinds of Weapons
Some of them are definitely way greater than Pacifista Lasers

So imo Pre-TS Straw Hats Lose, or perhaps win with only 1 or 2 barely standing up
While Post-TS SHs, win for sure

Pre TS same results.
Post TS - SHs will have little more trouble than they did with Pacifistas imo, but they still come victor.

It can fly pretty fast, can carpet bomb so great aoe damage so he can take out all the weaker SHs in a single hit. The stronger ones will have problems with his armor.. Pre time skip they get beaten without much problems. On the other hand post time skip Zoro or maybe even Sanji can possibly beat him alone.

R2: I disagree with the above. He would be much harder to get around than Pacifista. Still, SHs win but it's much harder for them.
