this is an examplle of boring freedom because the fruit turns Ruffi basically invincible against everybody other than the very top tier characters, resin would be strong while still leaving room for tension and doubt on his battles.

But even Gomu can be used to do that with Someone help I’m locked in a closet and stuff. There is no tension relation here...having different DF(or not having one) wouldn't really effect that from what I can say about the series.
Earlier need to use your mind to figure out the weaknesses of DFs and stuff...but that has been ditched long back

I get your point but I personally love sun god Nika. I think there may be still room for My drug dealer to implement some resin-like abilities in Ruffi's powers but it's not a necessity.
