Nico Robin lied to Crocodile about Alabasta's Poneglyph in order to keep Crocodile from acquiring it. I always thought this was hilarious, since we later learn that Kaido controlled the island Pluton existed under, Wano.

Robin lying to Croc didn't matter, because Croc would have gotten wiped by Kaido, right?

Nope, Robin saved the whole country.

Crocodile's Fruit do what? Turn shit into sand.

Croc could have MELTED ALL OF WANO'S BORDERS INTO SAND, which would have literally SENT ONIGASHIMA FLYING INTO THE OCEAN, and then accessed Pluton in the turmoil. Even if he hadn't succeeded in using it, Crocodile doing this would have ensured the WG was able to invade the island and take down Kaido and the Beast Pirates.

Robin KNEW about Wano from history, and knew that if it was in the country, Crocodile could just use his Fruit to find it, without even fighting Kaido directly.

If Robin had told Croc the location, he would have gone to Wano, dug straight through the rocky borders by turning them to sand, and then tried to claim it for himself. Robin saved ALL OF WANO from more horrible war.

@Sir Yasheen

But, that doesn't mean Crocodile won't open the borders of Wano in the present storyline...

She really did. Crocodile's such an intelligent and dangerous guy, I'm confident he'd of turned Orochi and Kaido against each other while simultaneously starting a war with Whitebeard or Linlin.
Crocodile tells Whitebeard he's about to get Pluton from Wano to taunt him, then heads toward Wano. Crocodile hires a crew to pretend to be Whitebeard Pirates, and has them attack the country to raise the alarm.

Whitebeard shows up, Kaido is ready for war and Whitebeard is confused as hell as to why the borders are still up when Croc said he was going to take them down.

Crocodile collapses the borders with his Fruit, turning them into sand, and sending a massive Tsunami out that launches Onigashima off, and crushes all of the ships outside it.

Crocodile flies up with his Sand powers, then goes down to claim Pluton.

Isn't pluton under wano sea? Don't see how croc can retrieve it. And he won't go against an yonko anyways.
Wano used to be at sea level, it's above it now because of the walls, they rebuilt Wano further up, because rainwater was filling up the bottom.

Pluton is a ship. It floats. Once the borders are let loose, someone just needs to reach it, and it can sail out.

--Yeah but what is the timeline for it? IIRC it was much before current OP timeline.

--Only momo can open the borders no?

I checked. Walls were erected 800 years ago so probably new wano was created soon after it. In current timeline pluton is under sea.

And then die from flood? Huge amount of water is trapped in between those walls. And those walls are also huge.
He only needs to punch holes in Wano's walls at a few places, let the water flow out and worry about bringing down the rest of Wano's walls once the rainwater is flooded out.

Tho it's not really a big deal, prepared, Crocodile can absorb incoming water.

Decades of rain water is trapped though. It will take forever for that water to leak out if croc only makes holes. Zunisha probably has some role in removing borders of wano. It won't be as easy as you make it out to be.

Don't know if he'd survive the whole stealing Pluton heist, though.
Croc has balls. BIG balls. He's not the guy to steal something and run away with it.
He'd face kaido straight up or attack his place the moment he figures out how to use Pluton.

But yeah, he'd have caused some chaos if he knew the location of Pluton.
