EOS Mustang does not need the Transmutation circle to create fire. He bodies
Yeah but he was blind.

If Scar has creation it is not as one side : he can create wall and such to block the flame and attack Mustang and in CQC he is likely better.

Mustang can win this but this won't be easy

The Mustang wank in this thread is out of control. Looks like it's up to me to be the hero and save this thread from Mustang wank and incorrect FMA powerlevels.

There are two categories of FMA characters, those with super human martial art abilities and those who are merely regular humans. Superhuman characters are characters with insane martial art abilities that allows them have super strength, super speed to the point that they can create after images, super reaction time to the point that they can dodge bullets, ect ect. Some members of this exclusive and prestigious club are Scar, Wrath, Izumi, Edward Elric, Ling Yao, Lan Fan, ect, ect (there's a few more but that's enough to get the point). The martial art feats that these characters display are insane and make them all super human.

Unfortunately for Mustang (along with a majority of the characters in the series), Mustang falls into the regular human club when it comes to martial arts. Sure, Mustang's flame alchemy is extremely powerful and dangerous. But his physical strength is no different compared to a regular humans, his reaction timing is no different compared to a regular humans, his speed is no different compared to a regular humans, and his martial arts abilities are non-existent. The problem with every single one of you who thinks Mustang somehow wins this fight is that you either think that stats are equalized (they are not, check the opening post), or you somehow read Full Metal Alchemist and didn't notice that Mustang is not a super human character, which frankly I'm not quite sure how you managed to do so.

Now I know this may be a shock to hear that everyone's favourite FMA character isn't as powerful as they thought he was, but I promise you that it makes perfect sense. For starters, Mustang already has the most powerful offensive alchemy in the series, so he would be extremely broken if he also possessed super human martial art skills. And second of all, every single super human character has spent years of their life training their body and martial arts skills in order to perform said super human feats that they display, while Mustang has not trained his body once and instead simply choose to spend his time training his flame alchemy. Therefore it's silly and almost entitled to grant Mustang the necessary super human abilities that Scar and others in that category have shown when Mustang has never once trained to become super human or displayed any super human feats throughout the entire series.

Let's start with proving that Mustang is nothing more than an regular human being with no martial arts abilities whatsoever. As you can see, a random Ishbal dude with a knife catches Mustang off guard while he's not wearing his spark generating alchemy gloves. As you can see, Mustang is completely helpless and would have died if it wasn't for Hawkeye saving him. Even Hughes has some martial arts skills (we saw Hughes skillfully throw a knife at Lust's skull) and Hughes quickly grabs out his knife to kill the fodder, but Mustang has zero martial arts experience and is literally unable to do a single thing. Mustang is a helpless puppy in this scene.

Now let's take a look at how a super human reacts to getting caught off guard. As you can see, Edward Elric is in the exact same situation that Mustang is in. Ed is caught off-guard by a random Ishbal fodder and isn't able to use alchemy to save himself. Look at how he shows zero fear and easily defeats his opponent. Ed almost looks bored and half asleep during this interaction. You have to be biased as fuck to look at this scene and not see just how inferior Mustang's reaction time, speed, and martial arts skills are compared to other super human FMA characters.

Next let's start with debunking the hilarious argument that all of you have, which is that Mustang snaps his fingers and Scar automatically burns to death. The manga has contradicted this numerous times.

For starters, Scar is an Ishbalan Priest that has been through strict and rigorous training his entire life and has achieved super human strength, super human speed, super human reaction time, and super human martial arts skills. It is canon that one Ishbalan Priest is capable of taking out 10 soldiers on his own. 10 soldiers with guns, rifles and grenades can't defeat a single Ishbalan Priest but somehow Mustang snaps his fingers and goes brrrrr and Scar dies instantly? Get real. Goodluck proving that it's easier to dodge bullets and grenades from 10 soldiers then dodging Mustang's flames.

Here are some panels of Scar defeating a group of soldiers on his own with nothing but martial arts.

Now I know someone is going to argue that they are fodder and it doesn't mean much. That is a flawed argument, because there is zero difference between a random solider and Mustang when it comes to martial art abilities, strength, speed, and reaction timing. However, I will provide some panels of Scar dodging bullets from the greatest gun shooter in FMA, Riza Hawkeye. Even at point blank range, Hawkeye can't land a single bullet on Scar, but somehow the legendary Mustang is going to be burning Scar to death huh. Makes sense.

Now let's take a break from talking about how super human Scar is and shift our attention back to how Mustang is nothing more than a regular human being. In the panels below, you can see that Mustang is too slow to react to Lust's attack speed and gets his gun sliced in half instantly. We then see Mustang attempt to switch to his flame alchemy but once again he is too slow and Lust instantly gets his gloves wet. That's pretty much a common theme in FMA, Mustang only looks impressive when he is fighting opponents who have no martial arts skills or when he catches a superior opponent off guard. Mustang is nothing more than an average human being with a very impressive offensive alchemy attack, but there are many ways around this. Lust could have killed Mustang any time she wanted to and was toying with him throughout the entire fight. It was nothing more than plot, luck, and Lust's arrogance (aka more plot and luck) that Mustang survived that situation. Unfortunately that's just something we readers have to accept in a shonen series but the panels make it clear that Mustang has no martial arts skills or super human feats whatsoever.

Next lets look at Mustang versus a super human martial artist human being. Mustang is speed blitzed, helpless, useless, and completely outmatched. Mustang is unable to perform flame alchemy even once. Pathetic.

Let's compare it with Scar, who's taking on three of these super humans at the same time without too much difficulty and is actually performing quite awhile. Take note how Scar is able to use his alchemy freely while Mustang is getting speed blitzed so hard that he can't even use his alchemy whatsoever.

Meanwhile Mustang is getting his ass by only one super human. And you want to know what the funniest part is? These super humans are actually trying to kill Scar while they are not trying to kill Mustang and are holding back due to Mustang being the 5th sacrifice. The difference between Scar's and Mustang's feats is very transparent and obvious.

And last but not least, let's address the "Scar can't do anything to Mustang if Mustang is far away" argument. Because that argument was literally proven wrong in the manga. And it was proven wrong by a character that both Mustang and Scar fought so we can easily compare and contrast their performances. Spoiler alert: Mustang was fodderized instantly meanwhile Scar performed a million times better.

As you can clearly see in the panels below, super human characters are easily able to dodge Mustang's flames, even if there is a large distance between them and Mustang. Wrath was wounded, half dead, and lost his ultimate eye and he still casually dodged Mustang's flames and fodderized him.

The sad part is that Wrath wasn't even trying to kill Mustang but Wrath was trying to kill Scar and Scar performed a million times better. In conclusion, Scar can take out ten soldiers with guns and grenades with ease, he can dodge bullets from the greatest marksman in the FMA universe at point blank range, he was strong enough to defeat the Iron Blood, Silver, Full Metal, and Crimson State Alchemists, he is strong enough to hold his own against a wounded Wrath (Wrath and Izumi are the two characters with the most super human martial arts feats in the entire series), but somehow Mustang who has zero martial arts skills and constantly gets his flame alchemy humiliated by anyone with the slightest skills in martial arts is going to win this fight? Impossible.

Scar destroys Mustang easily. It's going to be a quick speed blitz for Scar regardless of the starting distance. And don't even get me started about how Scar can easily create walls to block Mustang's flames, not like he even needs to resort to such tactics to begin with lol, Mustang can't even react to Scar's insane speeds.

If you disagree, post evidence of Mustang having super human strength, super human speed, super human reaction timing, and super human martial arts skills. Goodluck, because none of that exists. There's a reason that the author never had Scar and Mustang fight, because there is no realistic way that Mustang can survive that fight. That's why whenever Mustang has to fight someone with super human martial arts skills, they are always not allowed to kill him and they always have to try their hardest to avoid doing so. Mustang is an average human being with a very powerful offensive attack, nothing more, nothing less. And Mustang stands no chance against Scar.

@Zara Just rewatched that with Mustang and that made me think of this :

Dumbledore vs inferi

Mustang has some serious firepower here.

Scar isn't putting down Greedling, on top of the fact he could keep up with Bradley for a while.
Both kept up with Bradley and both were overpowered. But in CQC Scar is OP and I def think that Scar can destroy Greed armor. And Scar has long range move now with creation alchemy. So two good advantages for Greed vanished : in CQC his armor will likely not protect him enough, and he his CQC skill can be countered by long range and alchemy.

This will be a good fight but for me Scar is on top.
