I don't think some people realize the importance of Streusen in the Big Mom pirates. The man was basically BM's equivalent of Zoro, at least at the start of the BMP. Just look:


The RHM of almost every pirate crew is always the first crew member.
  • Luffy and Zoro
  • Roger and Rayleigh
  • Kaido and King
Hence, while Streusen is obviously very old and out of his prime, in his younger days I think he might have been incredibly strong. The fact he saved the entire BMP hints as much:

He effortlessly sent a massive flying slash, even if he only cut cake. The man was clearly a master swordsman in his youth.

imo, due to Streusen's status as the original RHM of the BMP and his skills as a swordsman, it is extremely likely that Streusen is a powerful ryuo user. Much like Hyogoro.

I believe that now that Kata has the responsibility of taking care of his siblings and Pudding has been captured, Streusen will train Katakuri in ryuo, helping him to master CoA and unlock ACoC.

There are Characters whom Oda decided to Hype even though they served their Role or had Very Little Role

1. Streusen Hype Teased by Capone
2. T-Bone Hype Teased by Zoro
3. Vista Hype Teased by Mihawk

What's in Common between these? They are "Knights"
And conveniently, there are other Knight Characters whose Backstory isn't Revealed yet. This includes:
Brook - Crocodile - Mihawk - X-Drake - Pica & Cavendish
And you can also expect Imu to be a Knight since Mary Geoise is Themed after them

Cavendish Unlocks Double-Layered Eyes when fusing with Hakuba
Mihawk & Imu already have Double-Layered Eyes at all times, meaning they already Fused with their Inner Demon
Streusen, T-Bone, Vista, Brook, Crocodile, Pica & Drake are Next ... etc
(There are Possibly others such as Bobbin, One of WB Allies ... etc)

These are "Sleeper Agents"!

Straw Hats have Brook
Big Mom Pirates have Streusen
Beasts Pirates had Drake (And now He could be still in Wano)
Marine HQ have T-Bone
WB Pirates had Vista
DD Pirates had Pica (And now He is in Impel Down)
Cross Guild already led by Crocodile
Mary Geoise already led by Imu
And Mihawk is World's Strongest Swordsman

Story's Main Villain already played his Cards, 20 Knights scattered around World's Biggest Factions
They simply need a Certain Someone to "Awaken" them
Someone who was granted Eternal Life so that He returns One Day to Fulfill his Purpose
And this Someone is on board BB Ship coming to Egghead

Don’t know why people think Kata can’t get stronger

strength in OP is tied to your will. Right now, Kata’s mom was seemingly killed and his sister is captured. For the past 48 years he’s been a big mom pirate. Now he needs to be captain.

Why won’t he get stronger?

Because he's not important anymore.

Best possibility is to make a cameo in the final war or be Luffy's cheerleader like Kyros, Neptune and all the previous characters we have met so far.

Thats just you forcing yourself to believe that he'll be important.

Pudding's role is more about the RP and maybe Sanji. Katakuri had his time in the cover story and on top of that guess what, he couldnt even handle Germa and fucking Ceasar Clown.
