Character Discussion Supernovas should have been more strict with who they pick in their crew?

Luffy picked only the best of the best, in comparison the supernovas captains have only fodders in their crews, BB didn't go the luffy way searching everywhere, but he did have a good plan and picked his crew from the most dangerous level in impel down. The other supernovas didn't seem to have any requirements, they accepted every fodder they found ending up with fodders crew that also have low numbers, and not becoming proper rivals for SHs.

Shoudl they ahve been more strict, like search for the strong guy and only pick them?

Well....

Luffy got lucky.

The only straw hat he personally went out of his way to get is Zoro besides that, the remaining Strawhats all come down to their personalities and if they are good people.

Nami became the Navigator after the battle with Buggy - Luffy had no clue she was as good as she was

Usopp joined after he helped protect his village only person who knew he was a good sniper was Zoro - Luffy again didn’t know he was a good marksman

Luffy officially says Sanji is their cook after he gives food to Gin after he was kicked out the baratie for having no money - Luffy again didn’t know he was a top tier chef and great fighter.

ETC....

Luffy is just lucky, the other Supernova are not as fortunate.

At this point the Supernovas resemble the Middle generation far more than they resemble Roger's. Blackbeard is Kaido, Luffy is Shanks , Kidd is a Moria who didn't give up, Law is a Doflamingo with a weaker crew and everyone else are just the Jinbei and Hancock of this generation, aka having very weak crews.

Sure Roger's generation also had "losers" like Chinjao and John but at least Shiki Whitebeard and Even Big Mom had respectable crews

They are still rookie if you look at it on a long-term perspective.
In 10 or 15 years, they can have a stronger crew (new members and some will grow stronger) and potential strong captains under their command.

It takes time to do that. Luffy is just exceptional, the other supernovas aren't. Not everybody can grow as fast as Luffy's crew mates.

well i don't think oda has plan to make them luffys rival (actual rival not just in word)
about Law and Kid We Know that:
Law Bepo Penguin and Shachi are Childhood Friend and he hired Jean Bart in Sabaody
also kid and Killer are Childhood Friend
about other members we basically no nothing (in term of why and where they hired them

Believe it or not Chopper is one of the best doctors in the One Piece world.

- Figured out what causing the kids harm and diagnosed what was taking place due to Cesar - Keep in mind Cesar is compared to Vegapunk, even though Vegapunk by portrayal seems to be a level ahead.

- Also cured one of Queen plagues.

Don’t underestimate Chopper-kun.

The supernovas were merely created to make strowhats look good and nothing more, my lost hopes for supernovas were vanished with Killer's defeat. I always thought that all fights between Luffy's crew and Kidd's crew will end up in draw (like in case of Roger vs Whitbeard) but Killer's defeat against Zoro showed that Oda has no intention to create a rival crew for the strowhats. Killer's defeat means that the fight between Luffy and Kidd would end in the same way, Luffy would defeat him in mid diff. The rivalry between Luffy and Kidd is only on the paper and doesn't exist in reality.
