Justifying Shanks not being a swordsman despite Brannew & the verse viewing him as such by giving him headcanon CoC abilities is a much bigger and more retarded leap of faith than simply giving Mihawk the edge due to the title.

But the Yankers do it anyway, because the Yonkos are supposed to be some untouchable gods that they tipride. Even if doing so, actively makes a main character's dream hollow.

Oda is so old fashioned, even for his generation. It's like listening to a crazy old man in a bar. The story is entertaining, but you have to mentally skip over all the bullshit he says in between.
