I genuinely don’t even know why Oda is trying to add some kind of ambiguity to this. We are told the Jesus-Jesus fruit can literally choose who eats it. It’s not like the other dfs where a random person can eat whatever fruit. The spirit of Jesus himself inside the fruit decided that Joyboy would eat it and gain the powers of Christ himself
The only thing we are led to believe is “up to chance” is whether the person who eats the Nika fruit can actually awaken it. That’s all. There is no such thing as an evil user of the Nika fruit. The fruit would NOT allow it to happen. Nika himself inside the fruit has made sure the government never managed to either obtain the actual fruit or even by random chance what if a marine ate it or something. Even that didn’t happen
Jesus… I mean Nika wouldn’t allow anyone but a Luffy type of “good” eat the fruit. It’s the god of freedom. There is no evil god of freedom
In fact the fact that we know that the Jesus Fruit was awakened says a lot. Kaido says awakening is when the user’s mind and body sync up somehow with the will of the fruit or something so Joyboy having awakened the Nika within means Joyboy was basically Jesus on earth.
