People that say Yamato is gonna be the "note taker / log keeper" are just trying to fit a square into a round hole.
Oden was that because Roger started an entire new run of the Grand Line to find the hints and get there. So he got to see and write all of that.
The Straw Hats are already at the finishing line, Yamato won't see 90% of their journey to write about lol.
Also, Robin as a historian not only should find out about the past, but will most likely write something telling the events of the past and the present with Luffy, to share it with the world.
