The timeskip ended with the monster trio and it began with them too
Oda went out of his way to highlight the trio not only power houses of the crew

But also protectors of the crew

People love to pretend that returning to Sabaody all the way till wano that the dynamic disappeared but oda couldn’t make it mare obvious that that wasn’t the case

Hell the first characters oda has luffy interact with is fake zoro and sanji

That being right before fighting alongside the real ones

He again highlights them going down to fishman island against the kraken

Zoro Sanji reactions being highlighted

Them making a path for Luffy

Going to save Shirahoshi

Getting the treasure and dealing with pekoms and tamango

Also not really a moment tbf but it’s not a coincidence that they are the only ones to train their haki during the timeskip

The same connection they always had being put on an even higher pedestal with whole wings of the pirate king

Just because the trio was split up from basically a quarter of dressrosa all the way till wano never ment the dynamic disappeared

It’s the same thing as it’s always been all the way back to the east blue

As time goes on he just makes it more and more in your face obvious to people who still don’t understand after almost 30 years of it always being obvious

Nah Jimbo is a fraud

While Luffy is ahead of his underlings now oda still showcased the M3 dynamic at the start of elbaf where they had a combo attack together and is reinforcing it again with Gaban being comparable to Roger and near equals with Rayleigh. Jimbo is strong but the crew dynamic will always be monster trio then the rest. That’s why Yamato couldn’t join because she’d disrupt the dynamic by being considerably stronger than Wano Sanji

Tbh I don’t think Luffy having a top 3 commanders like kaido for example necessarily erases the monster trio dynamic. Same way Luffy and Zoro’s dynamic doesn’t no matter how many people wish it would

As of now it’s clear oda intends to make Zoro Sanji and Jinbe his top 3 commander equivalent

But yeah Luffy and Zoro’s dynamic don’t erase the monster trio dynamic and the monster trio doesn’t erase Luffy and his 3 commanders dynamic
Tho as to whether Jinbe will keep his position or get surpassed by other strawhats idk…

Tbh I don’t think Luffy having his own Oden/Yamato potentially stronger than Zoro and Sanji would change their dynamic either

• Oden didn’t change Roger’s dynamic with Rayleigh and Gaban
• Same with Ace joining Whitebeard because Marco and Jozu where still his main men
• Kinda same with Yamato king and queen

Jinbei isn't a fraud. Oda just needs to figure out a smart way with little to no explanation how to stop the regeneration factor that Imu & co has.

Yeah.. yamato is basically what early jinbei was in FI. Would jinbei still be stronger than Zoro and Sanji or will those 2 surpass him with ease in later arcs? Which both did with their powerups and fighting a much stronger foe. Now it pretty much Sanji who has to prove he is much stronger than Yamato. Elbaf might be it and we might end up going back to wano to tear down the borders.

Yeah I agree, it won't earse moments where Luffy does a combo with his 3 or heck 2 of his strongest members.

But this isn’t the only dynamic.

With Jinbei joining I don’t think there is a M3 anymore more of a M4 and with CoC in the picture it’s what separates the remainder of the crew.

Jinbe would be in the underworld right now if he was truly supposed to be like Zoro and Sanji.

We don't know that for sure but Nami felt comfortable enough that he was strong enough to protect the group if anything goes wrong.
