Current Events The Wano We Deserved

#1

Wano Rewritten: Kaido, the Unbreakable Beast
Key Setup Tweaks:
  • Beast Pirates = A Real Threat: Every All-Star and Flying Six fights like a true mini-boss, using awakened Zoan regeneration and coordination tactics (e.g., Who’s-Who + Black Maria tag-team).
  • Kaido = Mythical Monster with Boss Phases: His fight resembles a progressive raid boss fight with multiple forms and escalating powers. The entire island fights for survival.
  • No Nika Retcon: Luffy's fruit stays the Gomu Gomu no Mi (Paramecia). His limits are real. His role is heroic but not divine.
  • Oden’s Legacy is Tactics, Not Bloodline: The rebellion thrives due to Oden's inspiration and the people's unity, not prophecies or godlike saviors.

Act 1: Descent into Wano
  • The Straw Hats arrive in Wano and learn that Kaido’s factory zones exploit the people while biological experimentation with SMILE fruits and Zoan enhancements have bred an elite Beast Corps, each designed for regeneration, endurance, and battlefield control.
  • Flying Six are used early and smartly to delay infiltration and sabotage rebel supply chains.
  • Elizabello, Sai, Leo, and other Reverie allies sneak into Wano with Sabo's network after learning of CP0 brokering deals with Orochi and Kaido.
  • Orochi is not killed early. Instead, he becomes a conniving wartime manipulator, sabotaging both sides.
Act 2: The War Begins
  • The war starts with a coordinated attack by rebels, samurai, pirates, and overseas allies.
  • The Flying Six + All-Stars unleash awakened Zoan forms with accelerated healing and berserker mode. They use team tactics (e.g., Jack protects Queen's weak spot; Sasaki commands a mechanized SMILE battalion).
  • Luffy defeats one All-Star but is nearly killed by Kaido in Dragon Form (Phase 1).
Kaido's Boss Phases:
  1. Dragon Form – AoE destruction, fire breath, flight; nukes a third of Onigashima.
  2. Man-Beast Hybrid – Tactical genius + brute strength. Uses Seastone-plated kanabo and Haki shockwaves that can one-shot average warriors.
  3. True Oni Form (Kaido consumes an oni-enhancing serum from Punk Hazard): massive, demonic form, absorbs fallen Zoan users to enhance himself. Self-regenerates with Zoan mimicry.
Act 3: All Hope is Lost
  • Luffy, Law, and Kid are defeated. Zoro is broken after using all of Enma’s power to scar Kaido again.
  • Kaido reaches Phase 3 and announces that Onigashima will drop on the Flower Capital.
  • Momo, beaten and scared, tries to raise the island but can't fully transform. His inherited will wavers.
  • Kaido’s Oni form begins sucking life force from the island like a cursed leech.
Elizabello's Moment
Setup:
  • Elizabello has been holding off in the background, knowing his King Punch takes an hour to charge fully.
  • His nation was destroyed by CP0 indirectly funding Kaido’s arms. He came not just for battle, but revenge and justice.
  • With everyone spent, Elizabello steps up — but Kaido senses the power and charges him mid-prep.
Brilliant Tactical Payoff:
  • The remaining fighters form a living wall, holding Kaido at bay.
  • Usopp uses impact dial tech + trickery to redirect Kaido’s club swing.
  • Franky and Kin’emon tie down Kaido with improvised seastone weapons while Yamato uses her ice abilities to freeze his leg for just a moment.
Execution:
  • Elizabello, crying and exhausted, unleashes the King Punch with everything — rage, grief, pride.
  • The punch strikes Kaido at the moment his Oni form begins to over-regenerate, causing a backfire — his own healing becomes uncontrollable, and internal combustion destroys his organs from the inside.
"This isn’t the punch of a king. It’s the fury of every broken kingdom!"

Aftermath:

  • Kaido doesn’t explode or vanish — he lies there burning from within, defeated but still conscious.
  • He laughs. “So… not a Joy Boy. Just a pissed-off king, huh?”
  • Luffy limps up, exhausted but alive, and delivers the final knock-out. Not divine. Just willpower and grit.
Final Notes:
  • Luffy remains inspiring, not godlike. He wins because everyone gave it all.
  • Elizabello's punch becomes legendary: not a gag, not a one-time joke, but a move so dangerous it must only be used when absolutely all else has failed.
  • The people of Wano, not prophecy or gods, saved themselves.
  • Zoan regeneration becomes a core theme of the enemy: brute survival vs. human will.

This line alone already makes Wano 100x better

Awakened is not for everyone. Just Kaido having would be good enough.

Luffy defeats one All-Star but is nearly killed by Kaido in Dragon Form (Phase 1).
We all know it will be Jack. Go ahead and say it! Hahahaha

True Oni Form (Kaido consumes an oni-enhancing serum from Punk Hazard): massive, demonic form, absorbs fallen Zoan users to enhance himself. Self-regenerates with Zoan mimicry.
I don't like the oni enhanced plot but still valid. I'm very against absorbing others. He is not Piccolo/Majin Buu

Kaido reaches Phase 3 and announces that Onigashima will drop on the Flower Capital.
Honestly that Onigashima dropping at Wano is something I could forget as a plot. It sucks and makes no sense

The punch strikes Kaido at the moment his Oni form begins to over-regenerate, causing a backfire — his own healing becomes uncontrollable, and internal combustion destroys his organs from the inside.
Nah this sucks and makes no sense

  • He laughs. “So… not a Joy Boy. Just a pissed-off king, huh?”
  • Luffy limps up, exhausted but alive, and delivers the final knock-out. Not divine. Just willpower and grit.
Just last hit? Is this MOBA now?

Is King Punch Haki?

IS IT???

I'm fine with the overall story beats of Wano, it just needed more stakes.

I think the worst part of the Raid was only realizing Izo and Asura were dead afterwards.

The fake-out deaths have become so bad I can't even tell when characters actually died anymore.

Wano should have been Caribou's arc, SMH.

  1. True Oni Form (Kaido consumes an oni-enhancing serum from Punk Hazard): massive, demonic form, absorbs fallen Zoan users to enhance himself. Self-regenerates with Zoan mimicry.

Worst thing in this thread tho imo. Maybe would be cool if executed correctly though.

Chimera Kaido roars: "Now child you will see why they call me 100 Beast Kaido!" Kaido has 100 Powerful Zoans in his body. His power level is off the charts, and he reveals, "This is the technique I'd been working on. Why I needed so many Zoan devil fruits. The Smiles. Everything. All for this moment... I am Now above even that geezer Whitebeard! WORORORORORORORORO!" He one shots Sanji, Zoro, Yamato, Kinemon, and nearly kills Usopp, who is saved last second by Kanjuro, who has a turn of heart after seeing how cowardly Usopp is, and cries for Usopp as he hugs him, sorry for what he'd done.
Kaido kills Kanjuro and steps on his head, popping it in very gorey fashion, as Luffy having Awakened, is ready to finish the battle!

Chimera Kaido has Dragon, Pteranodon, Brachiosaurus, Mammoth, Spider, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Sabertooth transformations, ut he also has a extremely strong 7th transformation: Typhon. His Typhon is one of his 100 transformations, and his power rivals that of even Whitebeard, who you'd need a miracle to defeat!!!

Kaido flashbacks happens but here it is 3 chapters

Typhon Kaido causes a great storm on Onigashima, as he prepares to drop it ontop of Wano-Kuni proper, before he is stopped by Gear 4 Snakeman Luffy.
Typhon Kaido reveals his 20 year plan has all led here, and he declares himself Joyboy!

Gear 4 Snakeman Luffy reveals he has awakened.

Onigashima falls, but Luffy goes below to hold it back and buys time to tell Law and Zoro to evacuate the villagers.
five minutes. Luffy holds it back for 5 minutes.

Zoro strikes at Kaidos wound, which angers him and he uses Lightning Bagua, his fastest technique

after having landed on the Capital, Kaido declared “Welcome to New Onigashima!” Even awakened Luffy alongside Marco and Jinbe aren’t enough.
The alliance runs away, helping villagers caught in debris.
this all leads to Act 4 of Wano, the final face off 8 hours after the creation of New Onigashima.
Yaqui’s soul helps Zoro train w Enma

Kaido unleashes Pluton and kills Kinemon
