Great thread, idk why its tagged controversial though haha. I don't know that many anyway but I do know a few at least.

My favourites by FAR are Broken Peach, discovered them a short while ago and just fell in love and was completely blown away by their amazing and uniquely done mashup covers, talent, harmony, energy, passion, choreograph etc. The definition of a one of a kind talent and band absolutely!:

Post Modern Jukebox are amazing, they had an incredible singer called Robyn Adele Anderson who split from them and seems to be doing her own identical thing solo for some reason, but PMJ's cover of Barbie Girl is really unique fitting, creative, brilliant and hilariously aweesome and iconic, I WISH it had been in the Barbie movie but these Hollywood execs will NEVER do what we wish for!:

Morgan James is INSANE as a singer too, to imitate a Theremin with just her own voice is just out of this world, pun intended ofc! (Since theremins are used for sci-fi a lot lol).

Haely Reinhart is another insanely good singer, she did a James Bond style title song for the VR spy game series I Expect You To Die, the 3rd one specifically and its called Cog in the Machine with a female scientist megalomanical villain singing to you, its EXTREMELY good and cool! Very powerfully awesome:

With I Expect You To Die 2, they got Puddles the Pity Clown @Rottkins @CoC: Color of Clowns who is a PHENOMENAL artist and singer too, INCREDIBLE voice, soul and presence/gravitas, I LOVE his covers of songs like Sound of Silence, Losing My Religion, Crazy Train etc:

The Losing My Religion one has never sounded more powerful to me too! I get GOOSEBUMPS every single time towards the end, when he really belts and cries out in anguish (around 2:55 onwards). Indescribable cover. Truly embodied the heartbreak and despair in the song.

There's also this absolutely phenomenal band called Blackmore's Night, made of a husband and wife couple for around 30 years and featuring THE RITCHIE BLACKMORE himself as 1 half of the couple and thus main part of the band! Mr Deep Purple, Rainbow and such himself! His wife is the AMAZING, incredible, insanely brilliant Candice Night, both as a writer and singer, she is just SOMETHING ELSE! Pure talent, love them both!

They do their own covers too, whether it's covering other artists' and bands' songs or even songs from Rainbow or w/e too! For example, they covered The 2nd Element by the legendary Sarah Brightman and they did such a beautiful cover of it, with that classic wicked wizardry guitar shredding, slaying skill of Ritchie too! I cannot recommend this band enough, I love them immensley!:

https://youtu.be/hXk6KMLxKyM

They have lovingly covered other iconic, wonderful, beautiful songs like Moonlight Shadow and Wish You Were Here which I really love too. They also took a Russian Folk song and made it this Robin Hood-esque, escapist, thrilling, wistful anthem, something that really takes you away, well like with the wind even! They are a Renaissance/Medieval Rock band too which is extremely cool and they use tons of different historic and modern instruments, so your ears really get a treat! Ritchie even makes some of his own unique ones IIRC!

Then there's Celtic Woman who do some of the most beautiful, soulful, heartfelt covers I've ever heard, insanely gorgeous band in many ways and extremely talented too, pure IRISH BEAUTY in every essence and very uplifting, inspirational and such. Their covers of Ride On and I See Fire are beyond words, they bring me to tears every single time without fail, I can never listen to them just once!:

Apparently I know way more about cover bands/artists than I thought originally lololol, OOPS!

Sophie Ellis-Bextor does some AMAZING covers of songs like True Faith by New Order and Dolly Parton's infamous Jolene song too but I still prefer Miley's version regardless:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUOzEhij-TQ

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6MdiDvLeSw

Miley herself does some phenomenal covers of Believe by Cher, Like A Prayer by Madonna ofc, The Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks etc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOwblaKmyVw

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YihWOTGh78

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0IQm-MXh2s

She even got Stevie herself to join her for Edge of Midnight, her mashup of her own song Midnight Sky and Edge of Seventeen by Stevie ofc!:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CoOLtQbmJI

Heres is Robyn too, forgot to link her earlier:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-y3QzkZACI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIsvZ-lzzgU

Freaking Linkin Park and Slipknot covers too of all bands especially WTF?! LMAO!

Sorry for the spam, I really got carried away on this topic, I knew way more about it and was more passionate than I realised!
