Well Demon Slayer got the hype from the anime, and since the story recently ended in WSJ, it is understandable that people, excited by the anime, decided to buy all the available volumes to have the full story at hand and catch up. Which isn't much of a surprise.
Congrats to the mangaka though, must be great being pushed up like that and sell that many at once.

thats what you get when you concentrate on fodder side stories skip all exciting fights and just keep running who cares about Kyros and Rebecca , who cares about Pound
why didnt we get more Luffy vs Cracker instead we got backing cake 15 years old teenage boys doesnt care about it they want action Oda needs to rethink his course of drawing

Yaiba got nearly 10 times OP sales? I know it's due to backlog buying and all but that's still crazy and it also beat OP per volume sales.
Actually, I don't remember OP ever losing per volume sales before since Oricon release its figure.

What a fall for one piece. I would say oda really needs to game up his wano arc i fear it will move out of top 5 eventually looking at the trend sale.

One piece is no longer top series in japan. It still draws good crowd but shounen audience are still kids they are not interested in op.

Correct to many side plots, i dont feel really excited with flashbacks. I do feel author diverts himself when he findsside plot interesting.

I hope oda recruits good editor and team. The current team are aiming for money making than focusing on good story plot.
