Alright, CA has dropped a blog post detailing the Nurgle side of the DLC. Things are looking good for Nurgle.
30 minute video.
First off, Nurgle is getting a full rework. Plagues, recruitment, building chains, tech tree and army abilities are all being reworked. The changes sound quite extensive.

Secondly, Tamurkhan's faction ability, Tamurkhan's Chieftains, will allow players to recruit units from other races through these special characters. In the screenshot on the blog, there are characters representing Norsca, Beastmen and the Chaos Dwarfs. These characters will also provide buffs, extra unit capacity and special abilities for Tamurkhan. These characters will need to be managed using two new resources in Dominance and Fealty.

Alright, a lot of news this week. I'll focus on The Empire with this post.
The Empire is getting a substantial rework. Here are a couple of short vids looking into it.
4 minute video.
10 minute video.
To summarise:

β€’ Karl Franz is the only Empire lord with access to the Elector Count system. He gets special Emperor's Decrees which allow him a range of powerful options such as instant recruitment, declaring war on another Elector Count without the others getting involved and getting certain confederation with another Elector Count. Karl now suffers no penalties for crossing the territory of any Empire faction and his own army can heal in neutral or friendly Empire territory. He now also starts with Fort Helmgart.

β€’ Imperial Authority has been reworked and separated from the Elector Count system. All Empire factions have access to Imperial Authority but only when owning land in the Empire of Man. So Markus or Volkmar can have access to the mechanic but only if they go back to take land in the Empire of Man.

β€’ Gelt now starts in Southern Cathay and has his own unique faction mechanic in the Colleges of Magic. This mechanic allows him to acquire a resource called Arcane Essays which allows him to instantly recruit any type of wizard from the eight lores. From there, Gelt can spend Arcane Essays on permanent special items or powerful temporary spells including Cataclysm Spells, the one exception being the Lore of Metal Cataclysm which Gelt can apparently unlock permanently. Gelt gets dilemma interactions with Zhao Ming and can choose to either stay in Cathay or return to the Empire. The latter gives Gelt a powerful 10 turn boost which allows Gelt to quickly travel to where he wants to set up shop.

β€’ There is an FLC Hero in the Gold Wizard, rounding out the Empire's wizard choices.

On the DLC side of things, Elspeth von Draken has had a showcase vid.
14 minute video.
To summarise:

β€’ Elspeth starts in Nuln, Wissenland.

β€’ Elspeth is the Ikit Claw of the Empire. With her faction's Imperial Gunnery School mechanic, she acquires Schematics that can be spent on upgrading any and all gunpowder units which are placed in various categories. Eventually she unlocks the Amethyst Armoury where special units can be unlocked and upgraded with the Lore of Death.

β€’ Elspeth also has a teleportation mechanic in the Gardens of Morr. Elspeth can construct Black Tower buildings across territory held by a friendly or neutral Empire faction. She can upgrade these towers to provide extra benefits. The teleport function has a cool down so trips must be planned carefully.

@Owl Ki have you dug into Pharaoh? Would like some suggestions on what to play
Bear in mind I've only ever played Medieval II and Rome I
Nah, I didn't get Pharaoh. The time period didn't interest me and the faction variety looks severely limited.

I swear historical Total War peaked at Medieval II. That said, Shogun II was probably the last historical game in the franchise that slapped hard, especially in combination with its Fall of the Samurai DLC.

If the rumours of a WWI game are true then that would be great. If done right, that setting would be glorious. I need to conquer the East with the Tsar Tank and mess with conventional mobile armoured vehicle designs for the next century. :willight:

Yeah I’m definitely not as enthusiastic after watching/ reading some of the reviews
Is Three Kingdoms any good?
Our computers are prolly still not ready for a proper WWI game, but when the time comes oh boy

I think @Monet has played Three Kingdoms. I was put off by it since it is looks like a light historical fantasy. Not really historical (lmao at DLC tiger units) but not the balls to the wall insanity of Warhammer.

There was also weird DLC where you paid to play the same base game characters/factions at slightly different starting dates.

nope i didn't yet.
...

but I heard alot of compliments about 3k diplomacy at the release.

I think there was an option to play 3k as as completely historical , like a general has his body guards with him . ans there is option to play it like romance of 3k.
....
last total war I played was warhammer 1 .
and iam away from gaming now because of life.

.....
the only problem is i don't see any major graphics improvements between series.
warhammer 1 is not that far from 3
etc.

Alright, CA is trying a new format where they tell people in advance what is coming and keep the fan base more informed of future plans.
17 minute video.
To summarise:

β€’ The next DLC will be Ogre Kingdoms vs Khorne vs Greenskins.

β€’ The Ogre Kingdoms LL will be Golgfag Maneater who comes with two confirmed units in the Thundertusk and Blood Vultures.

β€’ The Greenskin LL will be Gorbad Ironclaw. He has no confirmed units yet.

β€’ There will be an FLC Legendary Lord and the unconfirmed LL in question will be a Khorne character.

Any updates to this ? My upgrade is finally here! Time to unleash the power of Khorne!

I have been slacking on the news for this thread, haven't I? :catsweat:

Two patches came out. Patch 5.2 and Patch 5.3

Zerkovich goes through the changes in a timely manner on his channel.
8 minute video.
8 minute video.
In short;
β€’ The Dwarves got an additional mechanic called The Deeps which basically gives them a very expensive undercity below their own settlements.

β€’ Chaos cults, Cathay caravans, auxiliary items and Ogre mercenary camps + Ogre contracts all got a rework.

β€’ Unusual locations feature expanded.

β€’ We are finally getting free additional basic units for factions. Greenskins and Vampire Counts now both have affordable anti-large units.

Anyway, the trailer for the new DLC actually comes out tomorrow, so you chose a good time to come back. :pepapoo:

The new Omens of Destruction DLC trailer dropped yesterday for Warhammer III.
This trailer isn't as cinematic as the previous trailers. Almost looks like a Warhammer I trailer at times. :snoopy:

Anyway, the content is as follows:

Khorne
β€’ New Legendary Lord in Skulltaker.
β€’ Two new Legendary Heros in Skarr Bloodwrath and Scyla Anfingrimm.
β€’ New generic lord option in the Blood speaker.
β€’ Five new units in the Slaughter Brute, Bloodbeasts, Wrathmongers, Skullreapers and Khorngors.
β€’ Khorne fans will get a free FLC faction led by Arbaal the Undefeated.

Greenskins
β€’ New Legendary Lord in Gorbad Ironclaw.
β€’ One new Legendary Hero in Snagla Grobspit.
β€’ New generic lord and hero options in the Savage Orc Great Shaman and Night Goblin Big Boss.
β€’ Five new units in the Black Orc (Axe & Shield), Mangler Squiqs, Colossal Squig, Arachnarok (Flinger) and Bolt Throwa.

Ogre Kingdoms
β€’ New Legendary Lord in Golgfag Maneater.
β€’ One new Legendary Hero in Bragg the Gutsman
β€’ New generic lord and hero options in the Ogre Paymaster and Bruiser.
β€’ Five new units in Golgfag’s Maneaters, Pigback Riders, Blood Vultures, Yhetees and Thundertusks.

The DLC looks alright, not as great as Thrones of Decay, still a lot better than Shadows of Change. Like with Thrones of Decay, you can buy the entire DLC at once or just the individual factions that you want. I do like my Ogre lads the most and they look like they get the most out of this DLC. :yearight:
