In general, I would like people to be able to filter themselves enough to phrase their issues with each other in a respectful and constructive manner. But sometimes, you need to really unload to get it off your chest to begin the healing process that comes from the traumatic events you often undergo as part of playing Mafia on a forum. Rather than filling post game discussions and the general thread with intense, bitter arguments and complaints about how awful you are to each other, this thread is a designated containment pod for it all.
Generally speaking, I'm not going to moderate this. That means course language, vitriol and even straight up flaming may happen in here, and it's not going to get broken up. That said, there are still some rules to observe:
1 - You are still using the site and thus are bound by the site's code of conduct.
2 - In general, try to keep it a little tongue in cheek. As much as there is value in getting what you need to say off your chest, straight up hurting each other is not the intended goal here so try to have a sense of humour about it all.
3 - If you feel like somethingbgoes too far then my first suggestion is to exit the thread. If something deeply upsets you though, please talk to me about it and if needed I'll read the context and intervene. Again we're not trying to hurt one another, this is purely to alleviate some tension from building up where you feel you otherwise can't say it.
4 - This is not an invitation to harrass people. Repeatedly tagging them here to get a response isn't going to fly as that isn't what this thread is for. In general, I don't want to see you tagging each other at all. The purpose is to release your anger in a way that you maybe can't in other threads. It is not to try and force a conversation between people, especially unwilling people. That's not to say you can't tag people at all, but be mindful of when you do that you're not breaking this rule.
5 - You are allowed to rant about other players here. But I don't want to see anyone making reference to their personal lives if you happen to be privy to such information if you can help it, as again, the purpose is not to hurt each other.
6 - Please don't make me regret this.
7 - If this thread happens to be a good idea, all the credit goes to @hime for suggesting it. If it happens to be a terrible idea, @Dr_Professor83 gets all of the blame for it - don't blame me!
Otherwise enjoy yourselves. Complaints about game design can still be made in the game threads post game and some discussion on the game but when it goes beyond that and becomes an argument about each other is when you take it to here. I'm going to let you guys decide on when that is so if your posts get deleted in those threads, consider whether they would be better served being here.
