Future Events What’s next for Kizaru after Egghead? Will he face consequences?

Do you think Kizaru will be punished for failing to escort/protect Saturn during his mission?

It would be ironic and fitting if Kizaru — someone who’s willing to kill friends and innocent children if ordered by his superiors, and all just to maintain his status in the Marines — was the one who gets tossed out unjustly.

That would be a perfect ending for such a despicable character, in my opinion.

Also, I think that if Kizaru’s role doesn’t change after everything that happened at Egghead, it would be really boring to see him again in the final saga.
So, either you replace him or radically change the character.

What do you think? Will Kizaru face consequences for Saturn’s death, or will everyone just pretend nothing happened?

Personally I hope Kizaru and the admirals rebel against Imu

Kizaru is benched in the story for now. Oda didn’t give Kizaru this development just to throw him away, though. I think he’s going to sit in his actions and do the morally correct thing in the final war against Imu.

I also can see Kizaru being the first casualty for Imu or another character like Sakazuki or Garling

The fact that Oda kept him alive and didn't bring this character to a conclusion yet after Egghead shows me that Kizaru will possibly leave the Marines or maybe rebel against Imu/WG.

Is no one going to know anything? That’s possible, sure, but still kinda weird.

Fujitora wasn't even punished for actively fighting against the celestial dragons in the holyland. Reality is Admirals are untouchable assets due to being extremely difficult to replace. And the fact that he fed Yonkou Luffy in the middle of his mission is unknown to anyone but himself.

Personally I hope Kizaru and the admirals rebel against Imu

We already have Kuzan for that role.
At best, I could see Kizaru turning into more of a Garp-type figure.
But honestly, I think he’s the kind of Marine who’ll eventually have to step aside and make room for someone with a stronger, more principled sense of justice.

I still see Kizaru as a deeply negative character. Way worse than Sakazuki, to be honest.

Saturn (Gorosei) already excused him and fell for his fake acting, thinking Nika was just built like that. So no consequences from the Gorosei. Especially since all the others appear there to take over themselves with a "defeated Kizaru".

Who exactly are you expecting to give Borsalino any punishment?

They had three objectives:
– Escort Saturn to Egghead and protect him
– Secure York and Punk Records
– Kill Vegapunk

In the end, they only managed to take York and kill Vegapunk.
Saturn dies right at the end, we don't see Kizaru react to it.

What I really want to know is: what happened after that?
Are they really gonna gloss over Saturn's death and the fact that they failed to secure Punk Records?
Those were literally the two most important parts of the mission.
