What got you into reading Kingdom? And do you recommend it to other people?

A pretty simple thread. What got you into reading Kingdom? It can be a friend who recommended to you on the internet or a friend in real life recommended to you or you just somehow found out about Kingdom on the manga store and decided to buy first volume or something like that and decided to check it out. Or you found about some internet posts about Kingdom like says, YouTube shorts or Instagram shorts where some dudes talk about why you should read Kingdom, etc. The reasons is varies by people.

How I got into Kingdom? Well, it's from King of Lightning's video about 7 years ago where he talks about chapter 499 (the chapter where Qin is ready for Western Zhao Invasion and Shin wields Ouki's glaive for the first time):

So yeah, that's my reason for how I got into reading Kingdom in 2017. What's y'all reason? And do y'all recommend the series to somebody else after checking the series out yourself?

As for myself on the internet, I think I recommend Kingdom to @TheKnightOfTheSea in 2021 and he got invested and so he's here now discussing the series with us Kingdom chads.

Real life, in my second semester of senior year in high school in 2022, I was reading Kingdom chapters on my computer during free time in my Calculus BC class, and one of my classmates happens to see me reading Kingdom and he was like, "Oh what are you reading? Shit looks cool!"

I replied, "It's Kingdom. A manga about historical Warring States China that features a lot of military warfare strategies and tactics and intense political themes. If you're into those, I highly recommend it."

He says, "Cool! I will check it out."

A week later and bro's already into Sanyou arc Lmao. I approached him and says, "How are you enjoy Kingdom so far, man?"

He said, "Shit's amazing man! One of the best manga I've ever read. Thanks for the recommendation."

I finished the convo with, "No prob man! Glad you enjoyed the series!"

I remember he said that Ouki, Riboku and Renpa are his favorite characters. And Kingdom is in his top 3 manga along with Berserk and Attack on Titan. So I know bro have good taste lol.

The og forum/website that started translating mangas and subbing anime into persian had multiple groups and stuff for discussions about different shows, i was mostly there for One Piece but every so often the discussion would derail into kingdom because a bunch of the active users and mods were into it, so after they kept hyping it up i started reading.

I started reading Kingdom because of a video from an OP Youtuber and of course on the recommendation of some users here like Lee, MarineHQ and TheKnightofTheaSea.

And although it's still on chapter 225, I recommend it for those who like more mature stories with more mature characters, plottwists, intense fights and epic deaths.

- Canal MangaQ(Brazilian manga channel)

In one of his videos(i don't remember which), he said every Kingdom Arc is an Marineford Arc

And after reading Bayou Arc, i understood why he used that analogy lol.

I'm fine with spoilers lol.

I'm still at the beginning of the manga because I don't have much time to sit down and binge it but I started reading it mostly because of all the discussions about it here and people saying it's peak and better than OP and what not
I didn't take those comments too seriously because those are two totally different mangas, one's a Shonen and one's a Seinen, among many other things, but it made me really curious to see what it was all about.
I read the first chapter and some of the second and it was pretty good. Great art too.

Aye. Just take your time man. It's painful to catch up and wait for weekly chapters lol.

And also hope that you didn't read my thread because there are spoilers in there unless you're cool with it like GUI VI.

I don't really care about spoilers tbh, right now I'm too early into the series to even care about the spoilers anyway
They won't be that comprehensible to me

Started reading Kingdom around 2018 after completing Vinland Saga because I wanted to read the mainstream Seinen series, I liked it so much that I caught up in 4 months. The first chapter that I read weekly was when Shin was fighting against Chou garyuu. It's crazy how many times I've reread Kingdom since then.

Unfortunately I can't recommend it to someone irl since almost no one in my private circle is into anime or manga.

I am unable to recall the exact circumstances under which I began reading Kingdom, but it was likely in 2016, as Orojackson was still in operation at that time.

I had been experiencing a decline in my interest in One Piece, as I found the story to be somewhat lacking in satisfaction, with Oda frequently responding to questions with further questions. Additionally, the arc was transitioning to focus on Sanji, which did not particularly appeal to me.

In search of an alternative reading material, I believe I came across a KOL video discussing Kingdom. Intrigued by the content of the video, I commenced reading the manga, initially at a rapid pace of approximately 50 chapters per day, until I had caught up with the latest releases.

Back in 2012 when I was at last year of high school I discovered the manga but I couldn't read it cuz I didn't understand English at that time so I watched the anime instead, I am not gonna lie i watched 39 episodes in short time it was really exciting but at the end of Bayou I started to get bored but then Ouki :josad: happened and this what really make fall in love with this work.

how many people I get them to read kingdom ?!
one in real life
I think about 6 or 7 in the Internet .

I always tell them Kingdom only get good if you reach 172 .

I think that chapter is the real start of kingdom in my opinion.

Lol
back then we have complete arcs in raw

Started reading in 2016 pretty much got invested . I thought it was fresh approach we always see MC gets random power up in most mangas same is not in kingdom . The side characters shines more than MC .

My fav is obviously Riboku followed by Ouki and Ryo Fui . For now I dropped the manga imo it’s too slow at the moment but hopefully someday I may read older arcs and fall in love .
