From casting to score, it's a magnificent film series! I do like Jurassic Park (Not the World films), Harry Potter and Pirates quite a bit as well.

Studio greed got the best of The Hobbit, wanting the book to be adapted into two movies. Then the director Guillermo del Toro left the project and Peter Jackson—who previously did not want to be a major role in this franchise—was more or less pushed into del Toro's shoes. And almost immediately the excs wanted The Hobbit to be split into three movies.

So now there's a big vastness that needs to be filled by Jackson and his team, adding pointless characters, love triangles, over indulgent action scenes and action scenes befitting a Saturday morning cartoon.

They (Warner Bros Suits) wanted it to be the new Lord of the Rings when it was never capable of being that.

@Bango🍅 . Hobbit unlike LOTR has a short story that would fit in a 2 ½ hour movie. But the director became greedy and wanted to make three movies to earn more money. The three films are weak, with bad and poorly developed characters, they answer things that no one asked, they appeal to fanservice and the fights are all in a boring CGI

Didn't even watch half of them.
Can't really say that I have a favourite among the others, watched them such a long time ago.
