What series are you watching ?

Bubblegum Crisis (the original version). Anime is getting up there in age but the episodes directed by Obari (episodes 5 and 6) are straight up eye-candy.

I've been watching a couple of shows lately.

1. True detective - I just completed the season 1 and it blew my mind. The casting was on point and the story was very interesting.

2. Only murders in the building - I'm currently on season 4 and up to date. Love the comedy and the chemistry between the old and young actors. Steve martin is truly a legend.

3. Perfect Couple - story is not that great but casting is great. Lots of well known faces including one Indian actor as well.

4. Big little lies - I don't know about you, but I do love some uptown modern housewife drama mixed with secrets, lies, deceit.

5. Lord of the rings series - very late to complete this but proud to do it and be part of the LOTR fandom. Totally indulging in more theories and stuff. So many great characters and love the friendship between the elf and the dwarf.
Hmmm, I really liked Big little lies and Only murders in the building, maybe I should check out True detectives as well as we seem to like similar things!

Hehe seems like it. 😻
Well, I gotta give you a heads up that while BLL and OMITH might be chic and glamorous, true detective first season is completely raw. Shot in rural Louisiana, lots of junkies and quest to find a serial killer. There is some really disturbing content.

Ty for the warning! I did watch shit like The Boys, so I guess I can overcome that, but good to know that the vibe is totally different. I just kinda like detective stories overall, must be my childhood obsession with Holmes talking (I've read the stories so many times by the time I turned 12 that I could tell every plot in the middle of the night).

Me too. I'm a big sucker for detective series, murder mysteries and thrillers. I also love a good comedy.

Reason why I binged through shows like "Why Women Kill" and "The White Lotus". Especially liked the former because of how it tells the story of three women with a troubled marriage and lots of mysteries and lies in between. The second season has the most despicable woman you can find. 😂

Hope you enjoy True Detective and let me know what you think. 🤞

Why Women Kill was indeed cool series, although I liked the first season a lot more than the second one, which kinda highlighted absurdity for the sake of comedy and didn't do it very well.

I also loved watching the old Poirot series and first two seasons of Sherlock were nice. Lucifer and Brooklyn 9-9 also had really cool moments. So help me Todd and Suits were also interesting, although there's more of an emphasis on lawyers rather then detective work, but still there's a good bit of a mystery here and there. I've watched Lie to me and Mentalist, and Colombo was an interesting twist on your usual "whodunnit" to "how he's gonna prove it".

Ah, good times.

Oh yes first season was bang on. Lucy is a sweetheart and she was my favorite out of the three. And second season was meh compared to it.
In second season, that Bertram character was the best for me because he's a proficient killer but at the same time so innocent. It was hilarious how he always justified himself. His wife on the other hand, was an annoying B 😂 How many times I wished she'd get caught or just die. But never happened until the very end.

All good shows. I watched some of them like Brooklyn, Suits (fav character - Louis) and Mentalist. I also watched some Sherlock like the movie starring Robert Downey and the series with Benedict where I only enjoyed the first season but still went through the rest of the seasons for the sake of completion. 👀

Just finished "Presumed innocent" from Apple TV

It was one of the few shows I watched in one sitting because of the insane interest from episode to episode.

Sadly the ending was a bit crummy and not really satisfying for me but except that I have nothing to pick on

8,5/10

Just finished another one "Mare of Easttown"

Even though Kate Winslet acting was great, still too many holes and irrelevant plot. Writing seemed lazy and some of the ideas seemed borrowed. Dunno why they killed off that Colin character. Just another time pass watch about a small town detective with a dysfunctional family.

6/10

oh yes, Bertram was way less annoying than his wife, and I really wished she'd die sooner

Yeah, similar feeling with Sherlock. 1st season was great, second was ok, 3rd was meh, 4th was outright horrible.

@Kizaruber Eats mate, Season 5 of AHS is straight up a smut film. I don't see myself continuing it any time soon. Barely managed to. watch two episodes.

On the other hand Chapelwaite is a nice little gem I found. It stars Anthony Brody (Luca Cangretta from Peaky Blinders, and the Pianist). It's just one season, so kinda like a mini series about a family curse. Looks great and the acting is on point as well.

Series - Under the Banner of Heaven

The series involves a lot of religion, particularly the dark side of Mormons and Christianity. It shows the story of a Mormon family whose life turns out similar to the founder itself. Not being a Christian myself, I'm not aware how truly it depicts it but I'd imagine that it might hurt the religious sentiments of some.

However, religion aside, I just like the chase and uncovering of the facts by the detective played by our ex-friendly neighbourhood Spiderman Andrew Garfield to finally catch the killer.

(I'm not ready to see him in dad roles yet. He's just so youthful and cute. 😍)
