In the matrix moveis , robots are literally harvesting humans for energy. We would probably be screwed either way.

They are more likely to be defeated since it will be us who made them in the first place and who knows maybe at some point we can get rid of them and if not they'll probably kill you while aliens are unlikely to be defeated and could turture and do ungodly experiments on you.

Not really, aliens could be far away in the galaxy, but instead they would send their drones and unmaned weapons to take us down. We wouldn't see a single alien in that scenario.
