Shanks ONLY care for 2 people so far ... Luffy & Teach

Teach was Shanks main worry ... not anyone
Teach and Shanks share same title ... not Mihawk

I agree with the spirit of the post. Oden is the yardstick by which Kaido measures all Samurai. Kaido is going to compare Zoro to Oden to see if he's worthy of bearing his mantle.

We might get a Zoro vs Kaido battle soon.

This is why Oda didn't decide to give Strongest Man Title to Roger & instead gave it to WB alongside a Supreme Blade & World Destroying Ability & this is why Oda didn't decide to give Strongest Swordsman Title to Shanks nor Black Sword

Luffy is the "Hero", Zoro is the "Strongest"

The question is still wide open... why did Kaido refuse to take on Shanks? Was he simply not in the mood to take on two yonko crews at the same time? I don't truly buy the sake, diplomacy bs. Other scenarios are more believable eventually.

As of now the SN5 have been labeled as been fun to play with. In order to become a rival you need to become comparable to your rival. BM can be Kaido rival, Shanks could be Kaido rival, maybe even old sick WB but for Zoro it is still too soon. For now he is considered entertaining by the 2 yonkos (even if the c9nsideration could be towards the SN5 as a group).
