If they are pretty close and almost equal, i don't understand why Oda would hide King's bounty for so long. I think his bounty has to be higher, by quite a margin, because of his reputation, skills and his race of course.

In this arc I don't think there are a lot of obvious things. Everybody thought before that Zoro would fight King. Nobody could have predicted Jimbe vs WsW . Nobody would have predicted that Killer will be up there etc.

But Zoro vs King wasn't obvious at all at least imo..there were no set up between the two characters unlike Sanji and Queen with the vinmoske thing
