Not everyone is about destructive power, sanji is like Hit from dragonball. he is asasin. Why cut the shore when you can just hit the guy.

It is an ongoing series for soooooooo Long time. I cant even remember what i ate 2 days ago. As Long as he checks his own Facts when it is relevant for the Story, i am fine with him forgetting some stuff in an interview. He is a human after all.
