Man, Oden looks really weak now compared to Luffy and Zoro.

Why though? Oden was about to two hit Kaido and then was hit in the back of the head and didn't have other 4 strong people to protect while he recovered, truth if it was Luffy vs Kaido or Zoro vs Kaido this would be already be over.

It was likely due to Zoros' attack. By the looks of it, Kaido fell on his knees and then Luffy punched him in the face.
